This is a critical delivery role within it. This role will contribute to making Convatec’s data findable, traceable and trustworthy.\nWorking with the business the Data Governance Analyst will support core elements of our data governance capability - the business glossary and data catalogue in Microsoft Purview, data lineage and a data quality framework that moves us from finding problems in reports to preventing them at source.\nOur governance capability is being stood up from the ground up so the candidate will be comfortable establishing new processes and artefacts and equally comfortable with business stakeholders to get them adobted with the support of data leadership.\nAbout Role\n1. Data Cataloguing and Metadata Management\nBuild, populate and maintain the enterprise business glossary and data catalogue in Microsoft Purview (for example Finance & FP&A, Commerial, CRM, Supply Chain).\n\nAdminstor the tooling so catalogue does not decay after go-live.\n\nEngage data owners, stewards and subject matter experts to agree and publish common definitions for critical data elements, resolving conflicting versions to a single agreed source, and enforcing the metadata standards that make catalogue entries genuinely usable.\n\n2. Data Lineage\nCapture and maintain end-to-end lineage for critical data elements across the full pipeline and documented in a form both engineers and business stakeholders can act on.\n\nEstalish change impact analysis so that upstream source change identifies and warns the affected downstream reports, models and consumers in advance.\n\n3. Data Quality\nWork with business data owners and governance sponsors to translate business risk into testable data quality rules across the recognised dimensions, and implement them as automated, monitored checks with dashboards, agreed thresholds and a defined exception route.\n\nProfile data, lead root cause analysis on quality issues through to conclusion with measurable outcomes and manage data quality issues log end to end.\n\nSupport the shift from reactive reconciliation to preventative controls applied at the point of capture or ingestion.\n\n4. Governance Framework, Stewardship and Adoption\nSupport the implementation of the data governance framework, policies and standards, producing clear, user-friendly documentation and guidance that the business will use.\n\nHelp embed the ownership and stewardship model.\n\nContribute to governance KPIs and KRIs.\n\nAbout You\nProven experience (typically 3+ years) in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management or a closely adjacent role in a large or complex organization.\n\nDemonstratable hands-on experience of at least two of: Business Glossary, Data Catalogue, Data lineage or Data Quality\n\nExperience with Microsoft Purview is desirable\n\nPractical experience implementing or configuring a data governance or cataloguing tool.\n\nProven ability to bridge business and technology.\n\nDesirable\nExperience working in S4/Hana or SAP environment\n\nExperience in a regulated industry\n\nExperience with dedicated data quality or observability tooling\n\nExposure to master and reference data management\n\nEducation/ Qualifications\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering), or equivalent practical experience\n\nAt Convatec, we’re pioneering trusted medical solutions to improve the lives we touch.
