technologies\nR&D, innovation pilots and rapid architectural prototyping\nThe Solution Architect will work closely with the TNI leadership team, engineering groups, security, infrastructure, business stakeholders, and third-party partners to ensure scalable, secure, and future-ready architectural outcomes.\nKey responsibilities:\nLead solution architecture for Technology & Innovation (R&D) initiatives spanning custom development, infrastructure, hosting environments, cloud platforms, on-premise systems, database transitions, and enterprise integrations.\n\nDesign and document high-quality solution design artefacts for a wide range of technology solutions, from infrastructure modernization to custom application builds.\n\nArchitect cloud-based and hybrid hosting environments (Azure preferred), including servers, networks, load balancing, security controls, and performance optimization.\n\nSupport server moves, application re-hosting, OS upgrades, lifecycle transitions and re-platforming activities.\n\nEvaluate and design on-premise architecture for solutions that require local hosting, regulatory compliance, or low-latency demands.\n\nLead database migration strategies, including SQL, Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL, and legacy database modernisation.\n\nProvide architectural guidance on integration patterns such as API-led connectivity, microservices, ESB, event-driven architectures, middleware, and GraphQL.\n\nCollaborate with engineering teams to ensure solutions are delivered according to architectural standards and security-by-design principles.\n\nIdentify technology gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across existing environments.\n\nLead or support technology pilots, hackathons, emerging-technology experiments, and rapid prototyping for the Technology & Innovation (R&D) organisation.\n\nAct as Technical Design Authority (TDA) for assigned Technology & Innovation (R&D) projects.\n\nEnsure alignment with Convatec’s privacy, security, regulatory, and operational frameworks.\n\nWork with platform providers, hosting partners, and system integrators to understand product roadmaps, patterns, and best practices.\n\nContribute to the future-state architecture vision for Technology & Innovation (R&D) and broader enterprise technology domains.\n\nNote: Role based in Hyderabad, India\nKey requirements\nMin 5 years experience in related field of Technology & Innovation; background in similar industry is highly preferred\n\nBroad solution architecture experience covering infrastructure, platforms, cloud, integration, and custom software development.\n\nRegulations and standards like HIPPA, etc.,\n\nExperience with on-premise hosting, data centre operations, server migration planning, load balancing, failover, backup/DR and hybrid environments.\n\nStrong background in custom-built software, including solution design, application architecture, and modern development frameworks.\n\nExperience with database migrations, optimizations, and cross-platform transitions (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, etc.).\n\nKnowledge of enterprise integration including REST APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, messaging queues, ESB, middleware, event streaming.\n\nFamiliarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and application modernization patterns.\n\nExperience writing HLA/HLD documentation that guides engineering teams through delivery.\n\nStrong communicator comfortable working with PMs, BAs, engineering leads, infrastructure\n\nExperience evaluating emerging technologies and conducting POCs.\n\nTechnical competencies\nStrong understanding of architecture modelling standards such as C4, ArchiMate, and system context modelling.\n\nKnowledge of Windows Server, Linux, containerisation, virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure VM), and networking fundamentals.\n\nFamiliarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to support automation and troubleshooting.\n\nStrong understanding of IT governance, compliance, security frameworks and operational standards.\n\nGood understanding of SDLC practices (Agile, DevOps, Waterfall) and the ability
