Role Overview: As the Frontend Engineering Lead, you will lead frontend architecture, design systems, accessibility standards, performance engineering, and AI-enabled web experiences across platforms. You will define how web interfaces are built to serve millions of users across diverse devices, browsers, and connectivity conditions. This role is a part of 0-to-1 vertical build, The person joining should be comfortable with ambiguity, high ownership, rapid iteration, hands-on execution, team building and periods of high intensity work during the early set up phase.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and own the frontend architecture: technology stack, rendering strategy (SSR/SSG/ISR), state management, and build pipeline.

• Build and maintain the enterprise design system: component library, design tokens, documentation, and cross-team adoption.
• Establish and enforce accessibility standards: WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility
• Drive frontend performance initiatives: Core Web Vitals, bundle optimisation, image strategy, and lazy loading.
• Build AI-powered user experiences: LLM-integrated UI patterns, streaming responses, and progressive enhancement for AI features.
• Define frontend engineering governance: code review standards, testing strategy, release practices, and security baselines.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and API integration reliability across all web interfaces serving diverse user segments.
• Lead frontend teams through code reviews, engineering best practices, and technical mentoring to raise team capability.
• Translate UX designs into responsive, accessible, and scalable user interfaces optimised for low-bandwidth users.
• Collaborate with backend team on API contracts and system design
• Improve application reliability through testing and observability.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong experience building large-scale web applications using React.js, JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Deep understanding of React Hooks, Functional Components, Context API, and component lifecycle
• Experience with Redux Toolkit, Context API, Zustand, or similar state management libraries
• Strong understanding of UI architecture, reusable component design, and frontend performance optimization
• Experience translating UX designs into responsive, accessible, and scalable user interfaces
• Familiarity with end-to-end testing tools such as Cypress or Playwright
• Strong knowledge of frontend security, browser compatibility, and API integrations
• Experience leading frontend teams, code reviews, and engineering best practices
