The person joining should be comfortable with ambiguity, high ownership, rapid iteration, hands-on execution, team building, and periods of high-intensity work during the early setup phase.\nResponsibilities:\nLead full-stack development, customization, and maintenance of the Open edX-based platform using Python (Django) on the backend and React on the frontend, serving millions of learners across India.\nOwn backend development using Django and Python: models, APIs, Celery tasks, middleware, and EdX platform core components.\nBuild and maintain React-based frontend components and UI features; customize and extend Open edX using XBlocks, plugins, and platform APIs to meet product and government requirements.\nDesign and maintain system architecture: APIs, microservices, and service integrations within the Open edX ecosystem.\nEstablish and manage DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure.\nDefine and enforce code quality standards, test automation, and system reliability benchmarks across the engineering team.\nLead technical teams: sprint planning, code reviews, architecture decisions, and cross-functional stakeholder management.\nManage platform deployments and cloud infrastructure: scalability planning, performance tuning, and incident response.\nIntegrate Open edX with identity, assessment, and AI systems, including SSO, verifiable credentials, and LTI providers.\nDrive platform scalability and reliability to support high-concurrency usage from learners across diverse devices and networks.\nDeliver high-quality learning solutions aligned with EdTech standards: xAPI, SCORM, LTI 1.3 and accessibility requirements.\nDesign and implement scalable video streaming solutions to deliver high-quality educational content reliably to millions of learners across varying devices and network conditions.\nRequirements:\nStrong experience in full-stack development with Python (Django) and React as the primary tech stack;
