You will ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable while guiding engineering teams, managing deployments, and delivering high-quality, accessible learning solutions.\n\nResponsibilities: \nLead full-stack development, customization, and maintenance of the Open edX-based platform using Python (Django) on the backend and React on the frontend, serving millions of learners across India.\nOwn backend development using Django and Python: models, APIs, Celery tasks, middleware, and edx-platform core components.\nBuild and maintain React-based frontend components and UI features; customize and extend Open edX using XBlocks, plugins, and platform APIs to meet product and government requirements.\nDesign and maintain system architecture: APIs, microservices, and service integrations within the Open edX ecosystem.\nEstablish and manage DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure.\nDefine and enforce code quality standards, test automation, and system reliability benchmarks across the engineering team.\nLead technical teams: sprint planning, code reviews, architecture decisions, and cross-functional stakeholder management.\nManage platform deployments and cloud infrastructure: scalability planning, performance tuning, and incident response.\nIntegrate Open edX with identity, assessment, and AI systems, including SSO, verifiable credentials, and LTI providers.\nDrive platform scalability and reliability to support high-concurrency usage from learners across diverse devices and networks.\nDeliver high-quality learning solutions aligned with EdTech standards: xAPI, SCORM, LTI 1.3 and accessibility requirements.\n\nRequirements: \nSkills: Python, Django, React, Open edX XBlocks, microservices, system architecture, APIs, WCAG accessibility, ORM, middleware, DevOps, CI/CD, and learning analytics (xAPI/IMS Caliper).\nEdTech standards: xAPI, SCORM, LTI 1.3\nB. Tech / B. E. / MCA / MSc Computer Science or equivalent.\nExperience: 4-7 years.\n\nMust-have skills: \nStrong experience in full-stack development with Python (Django) and React as the primary tech stack; these are mandatory requirements.\nHands-on experience with Open edX platform implementation, customization, and maintenance.\nStrong knowledge of system architecture, APIs, and microservices.\nExperience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments.\nKnowledge of test automation, code quality, and system reliability.\nExperience leading technical teams and driving project delivery.\nStrong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.\nExperience with scalable learning platforms and EdTech solutions is preferred.\n\nPreferred skills: \nOpen edX XBlocks: custom block development, plugin architecture, and platform extension patterns.\nLTI 1.3 and SCORM: learning tool interoperability and content packaging standards.\nTutor deployment: containerized Open edX deployment and management at scale.\nDjango at depth: ORM, middleware, REST framework, and Celery task queues.\nIndic language content delivery: multilingual LMS configuration and Unicode handling.\nWCAG accessibility: implementing accessible learning interfaces for diverse learners.\nCloud deployments on NIC/SDC: government infrastructure constraints and
