Learn more at www.coopervision.com\nJob Summary:\nThe Industrial Engineer (IE) is a key member of the Continuous Improvement team, leading and supporting high-impact initiatives across Distribution operations. This role identifies and executes opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, increase capacity, maximize processing efficiencies, and enhance customer satisfaction. The IE evaluates processes, challenges existing practices, and drives sustainable improvements through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering principles, supported by data-driven analysis, standardized workflows, and performance management. Operating in a highly cross-functional environment, the role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, Engineering, and IT, while collaborating with Global Operational Excellence teams to deploy and align with company-wide initiatives with occasional support to other sites. This position manages multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment to business priorities and successful delivery from concept through implementation using structured problem-solving and project management methodologies. The IE may also engage vendors and external partners to support process, equipment, and technology initiatives. The Industrial Engineer improves operational performance within Distribution by enabling more efficient, consistent, and scalable processes. This role drives measurable business impact through strong project leadership, analytical capability, translation of business priorities into actionable improvements, and driving strategy into practical operational execution.\n Essential Functions & Accountabilities:\nContinuous Improvement & Process OptimizationIdentify, prioritize, and execute opportunities to improve operational performance.\nAnalyze current-state processes to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.\nDevelop and implement sustainable solutions using structured industrial engineering methodologies.\nEstablish, sustain, and standardize improvements through clear documentation and repeatable processes.\n\nCost Reduction & Productivity ImprovementIdentify and execute initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve productivity.\nBuild business cases to justify investments and improvement efforts.\nTrack and validate financial impact, ensuring initiatives deliver expected savings and performance outcomes.\n\nProject Execution & DeliveryLead and execute multiple concurrent improvement initiatives from concept through implementation.\nDefine objectives, approach, and success criteria aligned with business priorities.\nApply structured problem-solving methods to analyze issues and develop effective solutions.\nDrive timely execution and ensure initiatives deliver measurable operational and financial impact.\n\nCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, Engineering, and IT teams.\nFacilitate workshops, kaizen events, and stakeholder alignment sessions.\nCommunicate project progress, risks, and results to key stakeholders.\nSupport alignment with Global Operational Excellence initiatives and standards.\n\nProcess Standardization & GovernanceDevelop and deploy standardized processes and industry best practices.\nEnsure adherence to established standards and continuous improvement frameworks.\nSupport process reviews, time studies, and compliance with operational requirements.\n\nChange Management & SustainabilityDrive adoption of new processes through training, communication, and stakeholder engagement and alignment.\nEnsure improvements are embedded and sustained within operations.\nSupport a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nProvide coaching and guidance to cross-functional teams on CI principles and methodologies.\n\nCapacity Planning & Operational EfficiencyAnalyze labor, workflow, and material movement to optimize throughput, capacity, and efficiency.\nSupport facility layouts, line balancing, and workflow design activities.\nIdentify bottlenecks and constraints and implement solutions to improve flow.\nAssist in planning for volume changes, growth, and operational scalability.\n\nData AnalysisCollect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends and opportunities.\nDevelop performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to drive visibility and accountability.\nUse data to support decision-making, validate improvements, and quantify results.\nMonitor post-implementation performance to ensure gains are achieved and sustained.\n\n Experience:\nMinimum 2 years of relevant work experience.\nExperience working in cross-functional teams supporting multiple concurrent initiatives/projects.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in an engineering field is required (industrial or manufacturing engineering strongly preferred).Master’s degree preferred.\nLean Six Sigma certification preferred (Green Belt or higher).\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nRequired:\nStrong understanding of lean, industrial engineering and continuous improvement principles.\nStrong math, analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with effectiveness across all levels of the organization.\nAbility to effectively facilitate, align, and influence stakeholders.\nAbility to manage cross-functional coordination without direct authority.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lists).\nHighly organized and diligent with follow-through.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks concurrently without losing efficiency.\nBe capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.\nPreferred:\nExperience leading Kaizen events or CI workshops.\nFamiliarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP platforms.\nUnderstanding of Distribution or manufacturing operations, workflows, and product flow.\nProficiency in data analysis/visualization tools (Minitab, Tableau, or similar)\nWork Environment\nNormal warehouse and office environment with some exposure to dust, heat and cold.\nMay include prolonged sitting in front of a computer.\nMay be required to travel as needed.\nFor U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $52,188.00 and $69,584.00 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.
