Through effective supplier management, this position ensures cost control and the timely delivery of quality products. The Buyer II leads site-level cost and risk reduction initiatives through effective sourcing and project management.Roles and Responsibilities:\nResponsible for issuing and managing purchase orders, ensuring adherence with CoorsTek policy, ethical standards, and compliance requirements. \nEnsure timely delivery by proactively working with suppliers to confirm POs, obtain progress updates, coordinate logistics, and expedite or escalate as needed. \nResolve discrepancies between the invoice, PO, and receiving documents, and work with quality on rejected items to facilitate corrective actions with the supplier. \nCategorize spend data and analyze procurement information to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Capable of making informed recommendations, generating reports, and proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software.\nIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks, including vendor dependency, price volatility, and potential supply disruptions. Support the site-level annual risk assessment process. \nBuild and maintain strong relationships and manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness, and lead time. Lead supplier performance discussions and corrective actions when expectations are not met. \nAttend weekly Tier meeting and report out on current supply chain projects, current supplies, repairs & maintenance, and freight spend/budgets for the given month and quarter. \nLead site or commodity-level sourcing projects. Utilize market data, cross-functional stakeholder input, and formal RFx processes to select the best supplier in terms of capability and total cost of ownership. \nNegotiate pricing agreements for items and services and ensure broader supply agreements are adhered to at the local site. \nProactively identify and recommend process improvements that enhance procurement efficiency, strengthen purchasing controls, reduce transactional workload, and improve the internal stakeholder experience. \nContinuously monitor market conditions, supplier capacity, commodity trends, pricing fluctuations, and potential price increases. Assess potential business impacts and proactively recommend appropriate sourcing, negotiation, or risk mitigation strategies.\nLead cross functional project teams at the site-level to execute cost savings initiatives, including cost savings idea generation, data analysis, supplier negotiations and project management.\nJob Requirements:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, purchasing, or equivalent.\nCertified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification is preferred.\nExperience:\nMinimum 4 years of buying/procurement experience.\nFunctional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nStrong knowledge of supply chain management, procurement strategies, and vendor negotiation techniques.\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.\nProficiency with ERP systems and procurement software (e.g., SAP, COUPA, QAD).\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost reduction and process improvement.\nAbility to work independently and lead complex procurement projects.\n Target Hiring Range\nAnnual Salary: USD 70,000.00 - USD 92,400.00Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
