Working supervisor for a team of workers including conducting/providing input on performance reviews, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.Position Summary\nThe Senior Team Lead for Advanced Materials Processing is responsible for leading daily operations within the ceramic powder production area at CoorsTek’s Center for Advanced Materials. This role oversees a team producing high-performance ceramic powders that are critical to the company’s advanced materials and semiconductor solutions.\nAs a working leader, this individual combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. The role also plays a key part in continuous improvement, process optimization, and alignment with broader manufacturing and business objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperational Leadership & Execution\nLead and direct daily activities of operators producing ceramic powders using complex and technical processing equipment\nEnsure production schedules are met with a strong focus on quality, yield, and on-time delivery\nOperate and support setup of advanced materials processing equipment, ensuring adherence to work instructions and process standards\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety and PPE requirements\nTeam Leadership & Development\nServe as a working supervisor, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members\nSupport hiring, onboarding, training, and development of employees within the advanced materials processing team\nPromote a collaborative and accountable team environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence\nAddress employee relations matters, including performance management and conflict resolution\nProcess & Continuous Improvement\nMonitor production data (e.g., workflow, scrap, yield) and identify trends, driving corrective actions or escalating as needed\nPartner with engineering, quality, and production planning teams to optimize workflows and improve process efficiency\nLead and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to powder processing, material consistency, and throughput\nSupport process troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production challenges\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nCoordinate with production planning to align schedules, capacity, and resource needs\nCommunicate staffing, overtime, and production challenges to leadership\nPartner with downstream manufacturing teams to ensure powder quality meets internal customer requirements\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred\nExperience\n3-5 years of experience in advanced manufacturing, materials processing, or powder production environments\nLeadership or supervisory experience in a technical manufacturing setting\nExperience with ceramic materials, powder processing, or similar advanced materials strongly preferred\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities\nAdvanced knowledge of materials processing equipment and manufacturing processes\nAbility to interpret production data and drive data-informed decisions\nSolid understanding of safety, quality, and operational best practices\nEffective communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse workforce\nStrong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset\nProficiency with basic computer systems and production tracking tools\nWork Environment & Details\nLocation: Center for Advanced Materials - Golden, CO\nSchedule: Full-time, swing shift M-F 2:00-10:30pm\nWork Type: Hands-on leadership role in a manufacturing environment\n Target Hiring Range\nHourly: USD 29.98 - USD 36.63Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
