Join our team and start your journey today!\nThe Assistant Facilities Project Manager supports the planning, execution, and closeout of facility-related capital projects across Copeland manufacturing and office locations. This role is intended as a developmental position for early-career professionals seeking to build technical, project management, and facilities engineering experience in an industrial environment.\nWorking under the direction of a Facilities Project Manager or Facilities Director, the Assistant Facilities Project Manager will assist with project coordination, cost and schedule tracking, contractor oversight, documentation, and field execution. This role provides exposure to HVAC, utilities, infrastructure, sustainability initiatives, and capital project delivery while developing the skills required for progression to a Facilities Project Manager role.\nAs an ASSISTANT FACILITIES PROJECT MANAGER, You Will:\nProject Planning & Execution Support\nAssist in the planning and execution of facility capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure improvements.\n\nSupport development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.\n\nTrack action items, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation.\n\nCoordinate site access, shutdown windows, and contractor activities in active manufacturing environments.\n\nParticipate in project meetings, site walks, and safety briefings.\n\nSupport project commissioning, punch lists, and turnover to operations.\n\nFacilities & Infrastructure Support\nAssist with facility assessments related to HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and utility systems.\n\nSupport space planning efforts, equipment layouts, and facility modifications.\n\nDocument existing conditions, infrastructure constraints, and utility capacities.\n\nAssist with coordination of equipment installations and facility tie-ins.\n\nVendor & Contractor Coordination\nSupport coordination with contractors, consultants, and vendors.\n\nAssist with bid reviews, scope clarifications, and contractor onboarding.\n\nMonitor contractor progress for alignment with schedule, safety, and quality expectations.\n\nSupport verification of completed work against scope and contract requirements.\n\nBudget & Cost Tracking\nAssist with cost estimating and budget development for capital and expense projects.\n\nTrack project spending against approved budgets and forecasts.\n\nSupport preparation of appropriation requests (ARs), capital justifications, and financial summaries.\n\nAssist with invoice review and reconciliation.\n\nStandards, Sustainability & Compliance\nSupport implementation of corporate facilities standards and best practices.\n\nAssist with sustainability, energy efficiency, and emissions-reduction projects (Scope 1 & 2).\n\nSupport data collection and reporting related to energy, utilities, and facility performance.\n\nAssist with documentation related to regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance.\n\nDocumentation & Reporting\nMaintain organized project files, drawings, schedules, and correspondence.\n\nAssist with preparation of project status reports, dashboards, and presentations.\n\nSupport lessons-learned documentation and continuous improvement efforts.\n\nCareer Development\nThis position is intended as a developmental role with progression to Facilities Project Manager based on performance, demonstrated competency, and experience.\n\nKey Competencies\nWillingness to learn and develop technical and project management skills.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nPractical, hands-on mindset with strong follow-through.\n\nSafety-focused approach to work execution.\n\nRequired Education, Experience, and Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.\n\n0-5 years of experience in project engineering, facilities, construction, manufacturing, or related environments (internships and co-ops included).\n\nBasic understanding of project management principles (schedule, cost, scope).\n\nStrong organizational skills with attention to detail.\n\nAbility to work in active industrial and manufacturing environments.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).\n\nTravel to other Copeland sites as needed (10-20%).\n\nPrimarily based at assigned facility and regular presence in manufacturing and construction environments is needed.\n\nPreferred Education, Experience, and Skills:\nInternship or early-career experience in manufacturing, construction, or facilities engineering.\n\nExposure to HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or industrial utilities.\n\nFamiliarity with CAD drawings, blueprints, or technical documentation.\n\nInterest in sustainability, energy management, or facility optimization.\n\nExperience working with contractors or vendors.\n\nOnsite Work Arrangement:\nThis role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.\nWhy Work in the Greater Miami Valley Area\nOur facility is located in Sidney, OH, conveniently located within driving distance to several larger cities, such as Dayton, Troy, and Columbus.
