Join our team and start your journey today!\nSUMMARY\nCopeland is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Engineer to support product safety certifications and regulatory compliance activities for HVAC and refrigeration products. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering teams, testing laboratories, and certification agencies to ensure products meet applicable safety and certification requirements.\nThe Regulatory Compliance Engineer will coordinate product certification projects, review technical and test documentation, support compliance activities, and work closely with organizations such as UL, Bureau Veritas, and other regulatory bodies. This position offers an excellent opportunity for engineers with backgrounds in product compliance, product safety, certification, testing, validation, laboratory operations, HVAC, refrigeration, or related technical fields who are interested in developing expertise in regulatory compliance.\nSuccess in this role requires strong attention to detail, technical curiosity, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nAs a Regulatory Compliance Engineer, you will:\nCoordinate product certification activities for HVAC and refrigeration products.\nServe as a primary liaison between engineering teams, testing laboratories, and certification agencies.\nSupport certification projects with organizations such as UL, Bureau Veritas (BV), VDE, and other regulatory bodies.\nReview technical documentation, test reports, certification packages, and compliance records.\nAssist in the preparation and submission of documentation required for product certifications and regulatory approvals.\nCollaborate with engineering teams to identify and address product safety and compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.\nSupport laboratory testing activities and help evaluate test results against applicable standards.\nMaintain certification records, technical files, compliance databases, and regulatory documentation.\nAssist with internal and external audits, certification reviews, and compliance assessments.\nRespond to technical and regulatory inquiries from internal stakeholders and external customers.\nMonitor changes to applicable standards and support implementation of compliance-related updates.\n\nREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.\n2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Product compliance Product safety Regulatory engineering Product certification Testing and validation Laboratory engineering Quality or compliance-related engineering functions\nExperience reviewing technical documentation, engineering reports, or test data.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively across functional teams.\nWillingness to learn new standards, regulations, and certification processes.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience working with HVAC, refrigeration, appliance, industrial equipment, electrical products, or related industries.\nExperience working directly with certification agencies such as: UL Bureau Veritas (BV) VDE Intertek CSA\nExperience supporting product certification, product approvals, or compliance programs.\nFamiliarity with laboratory testing, product validation, or product safety evaluations.\nKnowledge of standards such as: UL 60730-1 UL 60335-2-34 UL 60335 family of standards CE marking ISO standards\nExperience supporting technical audits or compliance reviews.\nWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE\nWithin the first 6 months, the successful candidate will:\nDevelop a strong understanding of Copeland products and certification processes.\nBuild effective working relationships with engineering teams, laboratories, and certification agencies.\nIndependently support product certification projects.\nConfidently review certification documentation and test data.\nContribute to maintaining compliance and product safety requirements across the business.\nWhy Join Copeland?\nWork on products that directly impact safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.\nCollaborate with engineering teams, laboratories, and global certification organizations.\nGain exposure to a broad range of technical standards and regulatory requirements.\nJoin a collaborative team that values learning, development, and independent problem-solving.\nPlay a critical role in bringing safe, compliant products to market.\nOur Commitment to Our People\nAcross the globe, we are united by a singular Purpose: Sustainability is no small ambition.
