The Azure DevOps Pipeline and Governance Administrator establishes pipeline standards, enforces policies, manages repositories and permissions, supports CI/CD adoption, and partners with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and automated deployment practices across the enterprise.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, build, manage, and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for application, infrastructure, and automation workloads.\nEstablish and enforce Azure DevOps governance standards, including pipeline templates, branch policies, approval gates, security controls, naming standards, and repository management practices.\nManage Azure DevOps projects, repositories, boards, permissions, service connections, agent pools, environments, and release controls.\nImplement CI/CD best practices to improve deployment consistency, automation, traceability, and operational reliability.\nMaintain governance for code promotion, change control, pull requests, release approvals, and segregation of duties across DevOps workflows.\nPartner with security teams to embed secure development practices, credential management, least-privilege access, and policy compliance into pipeline processes.\nAutomate operational and administrative tasks using YAML pipelines, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform and platform-native automation tools.\nMonitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, improve reliability, and coordinate resolution of build, deployment, and access issues.\nDocument DevOps standards, pipeline patterns, support procedures, governance requirements, and operational runbooks.\nProvide supporting administration for Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 services where needed to enable secure DevOps operations.\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years of enterprise experience with DevOps and administration\nHands-on experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting Azure DevOps YAML and classic pipelines.\nExperience administering Azure DevOps projects, repositories, permissions, branch policies, service connections, and agent pools.\nStrong understanding of CI/CD concepts, release management, source control, pull request workflows, and deployment governance.\nExperience implementing governance controls, policy enforcement, approval workflows, and audit-ready DevOps practices.\nHands-on experience with PowerShell, YAML, Azure CLI, scripting, Docker and automation.\nWorking knowledge of Azure services, Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control, and secure access management.\nAbility to collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and operations teams to support reliable delivery practices.\nStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing reusable pipeline templates, shared libraries, and standardized deployment patterns.\nExperience integrating security scanning, compliance checks, artifact management, and approval gates into CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, or similar technologies.\nExperience with least-privilege administration, privileged identity management, access reviews, and audit readiness.\nRelevant Microsoft certifications in Azure, DevOps, Security, or Identity.\nExperience producing operational reporting, KPI metrics, and governance dashboards for DevOps platform health and compliance.\nEEO: The policy of Hillenbrand Inc. is to extend opportunities to qualified applicants and employees on an equal basis regardless of an individual's age, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or veteran status.
