This position will work directly on the production and warehouse floor to complete tasks related to machine operation, batch production, kitting, staging, safety and other related tasks as needed. There are second shift (2PM - 10:30PM) and 3rd shift (10PM - 6:30AM) positions available.\nEssential Functions\nFollow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies. \nResponsible for product quality while maintaining standards and processes.\nOperate blender and kettle machines while maintaining a positive, clean and safe working environment.\nWeighing out various types of raw materials less than a full pack size according to formula. This entails using a scoop to transfer weight from one container to another.\nStaging ingredients for work center operators that convert ingredients into functional blends for the customer.\nPerform boxes and bags for palletizing.\nMay be trained to operate a forklift.\nMaintain a positive attitude. Focus on the customer, teamwork, and quality productivity. \nComplete production reports to identify problems and maximize productivity.\nAttend regular team meetings which include effective communication of organizational and policy changes.\nAdhere to Lean Process Control Board procedures to ease communication at shift changes.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications\nPreferred one (1+) plus year manufacturing experience, preferably in a batch maker, mixer, or blender role\nHigh School Diploma or its equivalent\nLean Process understanding preferred\nWillingness to work second or third shift with occasional weekend shifts\nUnderstanding of union policies and procedures\n\nRequired Licenses/Certifications: None\nWorking Environment:\nManufacturing plant is large, open floor areas with loud machinery, requiring some areas for workers to wear ear protection to guard against noise. \nWorkers may be exposed to elevated temperatures during the summer months; and some work may be required in cold environments during winter months.\nWorkers are required to wear GMP compliant hair and beard nets, company-provided uniforms, and gloves to protect the product from possible contamination. Certain areas require respirators.\nIn this position, you may be exposed to common airborne or surface food allergens-including, but not limited to, wheat, soy, eggs, dairy, and sesame-during the handling, mixing, storage, transport of materials, or when accessing the production floor.\nPhysical Requirements:\nWorkers usually stand for the majority of their shifts. Frequently lift a maximum of 55-pound units (boxes/bags). \nClimbing, balancing stooping, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting overhead, use of fingers, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.\nCorrected vision, speaking ability, and hearing are usually involved in performing written and verbal job functions.\n\nTravel Requirements: None\nOur Offer\nThis position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement.
