This is a 2nd shift role, responsible for performing analytical testing, pre-operation and line audits, and ensuring production procedures and quality standards are consistently met. The position also supports the development and training of QC team members.\nPosition Qualifications\nFollow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), FSMA, Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies.\nMaintain positive attitude. Focus on the customer, teamwork, and quality productivity. \nGive recommendations to improve workplace safety, efficiency, and to better serve the customer.\nAnalyze finished product for various analytical testing including redox, Chittack, pH, %moisture, % salt and titratable acid (TA) on a daily basis.\nDaily verification/calibration of lab equipment prior to testing finished product to ensure product quality.\nCheck scale calibration during line/pre-operation audits, to ensure that the scales used in Caravan’s processes are accurate.\nPerform metal detector checks four times per shift, to maintain the integrity of the HACCP plan during line audits.\nVerify that the box/pail weights are accurate by checking three consecutive boxes/pails on all machines during line audits.\nEnsure that lot codes and finished products package is correct and legible.\nPerform bake testing related to shipping or complaints.\nProduct that has been analyzed and does not meet specification, must be re-sampled and re-analyzed immediately. If product is not in compliance, HOLD stickers must be applied immediately and system hold activated.\nPerform line audit checks inspecting ingredients and cleanliness of equipment.\nParticipate in and successfully complete all required laboratory training classes.\nDuties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.\nEducation & Experience\nAssociate's Degree in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or Microbiology\nExperience in a laboratory environment within a related industry\nSAP/ Sample Manager experience preferred\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nKnowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment calibration\nAbility to maintain compliance with GMPs, FSMA, HACCP, and company policies\nStrong communication and teamwork skills\nPosition Location and Working Environment\nLarge open floor areas with loud machinery; ear protection may be required.\nExposure to high temperatures in summer and cold environments in winter.\nWorkers are required to wear safety glasses, hair nets, and safety shoes.\nDusty environment due to raw materials.\nExposure to allergens including eggs, soy, sesame seeds, milk, and wheat.\nPhysical Demands (if applicable)\nMust wear GMP-compliant hair and beard nets, company-provided uniforms, gloves, and respirators in certain areas.\nAbility to stand for long periods and perform repetitive laboratory or line auditing tasks.\nMust be able to lift up to 55 lbs.\nOur offer \nThe anticipated compensation range for this position is $24.00 to $25.00.
