Their main task is to assist hospitality leadership with a variety of tasks.\nMust be enrolled in Howard Community College’s Hospitality Program.\nResponsibilities\nWhere You'll Make an Impact:\nEvent Planning & Execution: Support the coordination and setup of events. Assist in executing service to match client expectations.\nGuest Service & Communication: Greet clients and guests at events, respond to requests, and help ensure satisfaction throughout service. Learn to deliver professional, guest-focused service.\nInventory & Equipment Management: Help monitor banquet equipment and supplies. Participate in cleaning and organizing equipment during slower times. Learn how to manage physical assets for efficiency and visual presentation.\nScheduling & Staffing Support: Observe and assist with scheduling, training new banquet team members, and understanding how staffing aligns with event needs and labor budgets.\nCompliance & Beverage Service: Learn safe and responsible service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, and company regulations.\nOperational Standards & Procedures: Observe and assist with implementing service procedures and standards for banquet and catering functions. Support efforts to create smooth, efficient, and visually impressive events.\nCross-Department Coordination: Support relationships with vendors and other departments to ensure successful execution of group functions.\nOther duties as assigned.\nSkills to Help You Succeed:\nCustomer service experience dealing directly with customers.\nPOS (point of sales) Software experience.\nUpbeat, outgoing and positive attitude.\nGood communication skills.\nProficient in Micros, XLS, and Microsoft Word.\nExperience working in a team environment.\nQualifications\nMust-Haves:\nMust be able to read, write and understand English.\nMust be at least 18 years of age.\nMust be enrolled in the Hospitality Program at Howard Community College.\nMust be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.\nPhysical Requirements:\nStand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. \nMove, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.\nReach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.\nStanding and walking for the duration of the shift.\nRepetitive lifting up to 75 pounds.\nBending, stooping, and squatting.\nWhat We Offer\nPerks We Offer You\nComprehensive group health benefits for full-time and part-time Team Members and their eligible dependents.
