We have an opportunity for a Senior Landscape Architect to provide coordination support on multiple landscape design and greening projects for its client in Los Angeles. This role will support our Facilities Sector.\nResponsibilities\nOversee the staff, projects, programs, and activities of the Landscape Unit, providingprofessional leadership, technical direction, and guidance in the planning, design, development,and implementation of landscape architecture and greening projects\nProvide technical direction and professional oversight to consultant landscape architects andother design professionals engaged in District landscape architecture, greening, irrigation,grading, and related projects\nServe as Landscape Architect of Record for District-designed projects and assume professionalresponsibility for the preparation, review, coordination, and certification of landscapearchitectural plans, specifications, and related technical documents\nPlans, develops, and directs highly complex landscape architectural projects involvinglandscape design, site planning, greening, irrigation systems, grading, planting, hardscape, andrelated site improvements\nPrepares and certifies plans, specifications, and other professional documents in accordancewith applicable laws, codes, standards, and District requirements\nLeads the design and development of in-house landscape architecture, greening, and land-useplanning projects, applying professional judgment to establish design solutions\nDirect and supervise the preparation, review, and coordination of landscape architecturaldrawings, specifications, construction documents, and design revisions for new landscapingand modifications to existing landscapes\nDirects and oversees the development, review, negotiation, and processing of Design ServiceProposals, scopes of work, and related documents for landscape architectural and greeningdesign services\nLeads coordination and community engagement related to landscape architectural andgreening projects with school principals, teachers, parent groups, nonprofit organizations, andother community stakeholders; evaluates input and incorporates appropriate requirements intoproject development\nReviews, negotiates, and approves task orders, scopes of work, proposals, and relatedconsultant documents for landscape architectural and related professional services\nPrepares and reviews cost estimates, evaluate materials and equipment, establish appropriateinstallation methods, and assess project delivery methods\nConducts site visits and field investigations; evaluates existing site conditions, reviewsconstruction and installation progress, identifies design and technical issues, and providesprofessional direction to resolve issues affecting landscape and greening projects\nReviews and approves technical documentation supporting grant applications for landscapearchitecture, greening, sustainability, and related projects; ensures that proposed projects andsupporting documentation satisfy applicable District and funding-agency requirements\nProvides technical consultation and professional advice to District management, project teams,school-site personnel, and other stakeholders regarding landscape architecture, site planning,greening, irrigation, grading, sustainability, and related design matters\nReviews project designs and provide recommendations regarding constructability,maintainability, lifecycle considerations, sustainability, accessibility, safety, cost effectiveness,and compliance with District requirements\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nMinimum ten (10) years’ professional experience in landscape architectural design on commercial and public agency projects, preferably school or university projects\nMinimum three (3) years’ experience in supervising a team of landscape architects and related staff providing direction and overseeing projects from inception to completion\nExperience with AutoCad design software system\nProficiency in computer office software (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.)\nExperience with graphic design and rendering software (Adobe Suite, Photoshop, others)\nGraduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture\nExtensive experience in AutoCad and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)\nRevit, Rhino and Lumion experience is preferred\nStrong design skills and a passion for creativity\nStrong organizational skills\nA high degree of self-motivation, flexibility, and resourcefulness\nKnowledge of planting design, materials, and technical aspects of landscape architecture\nReview of construction documents, specifications and contracts\nConstruction administration experience, as well as experience coordinating with a range of consultants including civil, electrical, and structural engineers\nStrong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.\nSalary Range: $180,000 - $197,000 per year.Location: Los Angeles, CaliforniaWork Environment: OnsiteOur Company\nCordoba Corporation: Building Excellence in Infrastructure\nCordoba Corporation, a nationally recognized civil engineering, construction management, program management, and planning firm, has a proven track record of success.
