The role plays a key part in delivering an efficient month-end close, maintaining the integrity of the financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and providing meaningful financial insights that support informed business decisions.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Accounting & Month-End Close\nProcess and maintain accurate accounting records for operating expenses across multiple entities.\nExecute month-end close activities in accordance with finance reporting deadlines (BD1-BD5).\nPrepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments and reallocations.\nEnsure all expenses are accurately recorded within the correct accounting period.\nMonitor daily financial transactions and investigate unusual or incomplete postings.\nPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.\nInvestigate and resolve reconciling items within agreed timelines.\nMaintain supporting documentation for all reconciliations.\nEnsure balance sheet integrity through regular review and analysis.\nFinancial Analysis & Reporting\nAnalyse operating expenses and identify material variances.\nInvestigate unexpected movements and determine root causes.\nProvide clear commentary and explanations for monthly financial results.\nSupport Finance Managers with financial analysis and reporting requirements.\nHighlight risks, missing costs and opportunities for improvement.\nEnsure compliance with IFRS, the Companies Act, tax regulations and internal accounting policies.\nSupport internal and external audit requirements.\nMaintain strong financial controls and governance processes.\nIdentify financial risks and recommend corrective actions where necessary.\nShared Services Operations\nSupport multiple business entities within the Finance Shared Services environment.\nAssist team members during peak reporting periods.\nMaintain standardised accounting processes across all supported entities.\nContribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy.\nStakeholder Support\nBuild strong working relationships with Finance Managers and business stakeholders.\nRespond to finance queries accurately and within agreed service levels.\nProvide financial insights that assist operational decision-making.\nCommunicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.\nDeliver timely and accurate month-end financial close (BD1-BD5).\nMaintain high levels of accuracy across journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.\nComplete balance sheet reconciliations within reporting deadlines.\nIdentify and resolve financial discrepancies promptly.\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and governance requirements.\nSupport effective collaboration across the Finance Shared Services team.\nDeliver meaningful financial commentary and variance analysis.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBCom Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.\nExperience Required\nMinimum 3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.\nExperience within a shared services environment would be advantageous.\nCompleted audit articles will be considered beneficial.\nExperience preparing month-end journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.\nExposure to ERP systems such as Syspro or similar financial systems.\nStrong understanding of financial accounting principles.\nKnowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.\nExperience with balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills. \nERP system experience (Syspro or equivalent).\nStrong financial reporting and analytical capabilities.\nCore Competencies\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.\nStrong analytical and
