Requires frequent overnight travel across the U.S., the physical ability to climb structures, and comfortable with entering confined spaces.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nTo calibrate (strap) upright cylindrical tanks, horizontal, spheres, trucks, barges, ships, by various methods in accordance with API Standards.\nPerform pipeline surveys.\nPerform checks to determine accuracy of measuring equipment.\nInspects equipment visually for obvious defects.\nRecord all measurements on appropriate field reports.\nCoordinate with customers in scheduling appointments.\nExercise safety requirements specified in Saybolt's Global Safety Manual.\nAttend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical, and gas inspection, including Right-to-Know training.\nOvernight travel throughout the U.S. is required as needed.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nA high school diploma or equivalent (general education degree). \n2+ years of related experience\nExperience is helpful but not required in the use of measuring equipment (i.e. Leica Total station, Rotating Laser Level, Leica Distometer, engineers’ level, theodolite, strapping tapes, tape measure, surveyors’ rods, etc.).\nValid driver’s license and a good driving record.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES\nExhibit professional appearance and customer service orientation\nAbility to communicate and work productively with multiple stakeholders\nAbility to work independently\nOTHER INFORMATION (US ONLY)\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
