Analyzes, evaluates, and interprets XRF data. May work with more senior level geologist.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nMeasures, computes, analyzes and records test data, by XRF.\nIntegrates analyses with other geological/geochemical parameters and generates reports.\nMaintains an active role in professional and industry associations and organizations to stay abreast of technical development and industry needs.\nPrepares technical reports for clients by integrating geological data and interfacing with clients to discuss analytical results or setup projects.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in geology or related field.\n1-2 years of directly related experience required.\nMust be computer literate with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nMaster’s degree with 1+ years or bachelor’s with 3+ years of direct experience.\nUnderstanding of Chemostratigraphy.\nExperience with various XRF instrumentation and XRF software.\nExperience in petrophysical well logs.\nExperience using Python, Anaconda, and/or Spyder.\nWellCAD users a plus.\nPrevious research and development in XRF a plus.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES\nProven track record of successfully managing operations and driving business growth.\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret technical and scientific journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.\nAbility to respond to inquiries or complaints from clients.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, calculate area, circumference, and volume.\nAbility to compute rate, ratio and percent and interpret various graphs used to analyze data.\nAbility to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of test reliability, validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nAbility to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of geological data problems.\nAbility to deal with formulas, scientific equations, and graphs.\nOTHER INFORMATION (US ONLY)\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
