Laboratory technicians must be verified to be able to perform all testsin accordance withapplicable standards and sound laboratory practice.\n\nClean and sterilize laboratory equipment.\n\nCalibrate laboratory instruments for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified tooperatecorrectlyin accordance withapplicable standards and sound laboratory practice.\n\nPrepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.\n\nExercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in laboratory and safety manuals and company policies.\n\nAttend training and passappropriate examinationsin petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations.\n\nUnderstand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets and makeaccurateentries into laboratory computer programs.\n\nResolve routine issues without supervisionrequired.\n\nAttend regular safety meetings.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or GEDrequired.\n\nAt least one-year related laboratory experience and/or training preferred\n\nAbility to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES\nHas a working knowledge of basic to moderate difficulty methods and safety standards, including ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory.\n\nAbility to write basic routine reports and correspondence.\n\nAbility to speak professionally with customers or employees oforganization.\n\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\n\nAbility to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables. Able to draw and interpret applicable graphs and control charts.\n\nAbility to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, or diagram form.\n\nRequires the ability toworka non-traditional work hours/daysschedule, including overtime.\n\nCOMPETENCIES\nLeading Self: has a self-awareness of how actions are perceived and how to respond to feedback.
