We believe that identifying, attracting, developing, and retaining talent are significant actions because our people are so important.\nSUMMARY\nThis position performs basic to moderate difficulty laboratory tests to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by our clients.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nSets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.\nPerform analytical tests of basic to moderate difficulty from well-defined standards and procedures. Laboratory technicians must be verified to be able to perform all tests in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.\nClean and sterilize laboratory equipment.\nCalibrate laboratory instruments for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.\nPrepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.\nExercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in laboratory and safety manuals and company policies.\nAttend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations.\nUnderstand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into laboratory computer programs.\nResolve routine issues without supervision required.\nAttend regular safety meetings.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nAt least one-year related laboratory experience and/or training preferred\nAbility to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES\nHas a working knowledge of basic to moderate difficulty methods and safety standards, including ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory.\nAbility to write basic routine reports and correspondence.\nAbility to speak professionally with customers or employees of organization.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nAbility to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables. Able to draw and interpret applicable graphs and control charts.\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.\nRequires the ability to work a non-traditional work hours/days schedule, including overtime.\nCOMPETENCIES\nLeading Self: has a self-awareness of how actions are perceived and how to respond to feedback.
