The role involves manually loading materials onto trucks, transporting items using company vehicles, forklifts, and hydraulic lifts, and organizing inventory in designated storage areas.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nReads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.\n\nManually lift and load materials onto trucks while verifying box or material counts of that material.\n\nCompares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.\n\nTransfers materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.\n\nDrives company vehicle, operate hydraulic lift and forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.\n\nSorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined part-number sequence.\n\nFills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.\n\nMarks materials with identifying information.\n\nOpens bales, crates, and other containers.\n\nRecords amount of materials or items received or distributed.\n\nWeighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.\n\nArranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.\n\nAccurately enter and record data using a computer.\n\nCompletes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.\n\nPrepares parcels for mailing.\n\nMaintains inventory records.\n\nAffixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.\n\nAssembles wooden or cardboard containers or select pre-assembled containers.\n\nInserts items into containers.\n\nPosts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.\n\nExamine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.\n\n3+ years of related experience.\n\nComputer experience\n\nRequires that the employee maintain a valid forklift license.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\n\nMust be well organized\n\nAbility to perform duties under minimal supervision\n\nAbility to work flexible work hours\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
