Apply today and make an impact at Core Scientific.\nThe Job\nTheAssistantCritical FacilitiesManageris responsible forall aspects of data centeroperations and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, systems, and staff,demonstratingan unwaveringcommitment to safety and reliability within the Data Center. Workingwith theCritical Facilities Manager,assistin building a team of Critical Facilities Technicians (CFTs), Engineers,and outside contractors capable of achieving 100% availability. TheAssistant Managerunderstandsandcan train staff on colocation data center environments, including theplanning and layout of power and cabling, customer needs, andremote hands functions.\nResponsibilities\nAssistin the management oftheday-to-dayoperation and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.\n\nBuilda staff oftechnicians with the necessary skill sets toaccomplishdata center operations that deliver total availability (100% uptime) while minimizing risks for customers.\n\nManage power and cooling capacity and monitor environmental conditions within data halls.\n\nWork shifts to support 24x7 data center operations, have flexibility in work hours to cover other shifts,and support maintenance activities, as needed.\n\nResolve all electrical, mechanical,andfireprotectionsystem issues in the data center while minimizing risksand communicatingissues to management and customers.\n\nAssistin aleadershipcapacity,coordinating data center construction and commissioning,and overseeing the transition from construction to sustainable operations.\n\nReview results from preventive maintenance inspections and provide guidance on how to address issues found.\n\nAssume an ownership stake in the ongoing evolution and operation of thefacility'sComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\n\nEnsure that all staff adhere to company standards for using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\n\nOversee accuracy and completeness of the CMMS, produce operational reports as needed.\n\nEnforce strict adherence to customer SLAs and change control activities.\n\nResponsible for scheduling, coordinating, and reviewing work handled by outside contractors and vendors.\n\nIn the absence of themanager, assume a leadership role with limited authority.\n\nAssistwithsite toursfor current and future customersasrequired.\n\nManagework schedulesand assignments.\n\nFoster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study, technical school with an emphasis on mission-critical operationsorhigh-performance manufacturing, relevant military operations,or equivalent experience isrequired.\n\n3+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments,required.\n\n1+year(s) ofdirect management of non-exempt shift-based employees,required.\n\nMusthave a valid driver's license.\n\nExperienceincreating and managing acritical infrastructure preventive maintenance programisrequired.\n\nExperienceestablishinga new colocation data center or data hall, preferred.\n\nExceptional verbal and written communication skillsrequiredfor interacting with internal employees and leaders, and external contractors and customers.\n\nStrong analytical and decision-making skillsarerequiredfor understanding and evaluating complex problems, including analyzing asituation,identifyingsolutions, and selecting the best solution.\n\nAbility tooperateeffectively in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.\n\nAble to understand and train others on electrical and mechanical systems, as well as other technical aspects ofcritical systemsmanagement.\n\nAble to read and understand complex drawings, systems,and other documentation.\n\nReports To\nManager,Critical Facilities\nLocation\nOn Site\nTravel\nOccasional travel between data centers may berequiredas needed.\nWork Environment\nThis joboperatesin a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters.
