Apply today and make an impact at Core Scientific.\nThe Job\nThe Assistant Manager, Critical Facilities, is responsible for all aspects of data center operations and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, systems, and staff, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to safety and reliability within the Data Center. Working with the Critical Facilities Manager, assist in building a team of Critical Facilities Technicians (CFTs), Engineers, and outside contractors capable of achieving 100% availability. The Assistant Manager understands and can train staff on colocation data center environments, including the planning and layout of power and cabling, customer needs, and remote hands functions. \nResponsibilities\nAssist in the management of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems. \nBuild a staff of technicians with the necessary skill sets to accomplish data center operations that deliver total availability (100% uptime) while minimizing risks for customers. \nManage power and cooling capacity and monitor environmental conditions within data halls. \nWork shifts to support 24/7 data center operations, have flexibility in work hours to cover other shifts, and support maintenance activities, as needed. \nResolve all electrical, mechanical, and fire protection system issues in the data center while minimizing risks and communicating issues to management and customers. \nAssist in a leadership capacity, coordinating data center construction and commissioning, and overseeing the transition from construction to sustainable operations. \nReview results from preventive maintenance inspections and provide guidance on how to address issues found. \nAssume an ownership stake in the ongoing evolution and operation of the facility's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). \nEnsure that all staff adhere to company standards for using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). \nOversee accuracy and completeness of the CMMS, produce operational reports as needed. \nEnforce strict adherence to customer SLAs and change control activities. \nResponsible for scheduling, coordinating, and reviewing work handled by outside contractors and vendors. \nIn the absence of the manager, assume a leadership role with limited authority. \nAssist with site tours for current and future customers as required. \nManage work schedules and assignments.\nFoster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study, technical school with an emphasis on mission-critical operations or high-performance manufacturing, relevant military operations, or equivalent experience is required.\n3+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments, required.\n1+ year(s) of direct management of non-exempt shift-based employees, required.\nMust have a valid driver's license.\nExperience in creating and managing a critical infrastructure preventive maintenance program is required.\nExperience establishing a new colocation data center or data hall, preferred.\nExceptional verbal and written communication skills required for interacting with internal employees and leaders, and external contractors and customers.\nStrong analytical and decision-making skills are required for understanding and evaluating complex problems, including analyzing a situation, identifying solutions, and selecting the best solution.\nAbility to operate effectively in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.\nAble to understand and train others on electrical and mechanical systems, as well as other technical aspects of critical systems management.\nAble to read and understand complex drawings, systems, and other documentation.\nReports To\nManager, Critical Facilities \nLocation \nOn Site - Dalton, GA\nTravel \nOccasional travel between data centers may be required as needed. \nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments. \nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds. \nPosition Type/ Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time, onsite position. Shifts may vary according to the site.
