Apply today and make an impact at Core Scientific.\nThe Job\nThe Critical Facilities Technician (CFT) is responsible for all aspects of data center operations related to critical and non-critical infrastructure, equipment, and systems. They will participate in an unwavering attitude and commitment to safety and reliability within the Data Center. The CFT will drive continual improvements in the data center's operational excellence by adhering to company standards and industry’s best practices.\nResponsibilities\nOperate and maintain critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.\nWork with a team of CFTs to deliver total availability (100% uptime) while minimizing risks. \nMonitor power, cooling capacity, and environmental conditions within the data halls. \nUtilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as a tool to manage all planned and unplanned data center work. \nPerform preventive maintenance on data center electrical and mechanical equipment. \nAssist with the development, revision, and execution of approximately 200 operating procedures and preventive maintenance inspections, and perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity, and continual improvement. \nAssist with the development of Data Center standards and policies when necessary. \nResolve minor electrical and mechanical issues within the data center quickly while minimizing risk and properly communicating issues to the appropriate chain of command. \nRespond to emergencies and critical issues as necessary and work independently and as a team, according to staffing and situation, towards complete recovery. \nTroubleshoot and document technical issues, escalate as appropriate, and ensure issue resolution. \nAssist with planning on corrective issues. \nAssist and/or complete physical and logical installations. \nMaintain accurate facility data, including rounds, preventative maintenance work orders, change management, etc. \nMaintain strict adherence to change control activities. \nManage assigned workflow tasks to provide timely turnaround. \nEscort and work effectively with outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding by critical facility work rules. \nComplete facility rounds at the beginning of each shift to ensure data center and grounds upkeep. \nParticipate in facility training programs regularly. \nAssist in facility operations, as required. \nParticipate in construction and commissioning, as directed by the CFM. \nWork shifts to support 24×7 data center operation and have flexibility in work hours to cover other shifts. On-call emergency support as required. \nAdherent to all federal and local safety laws. \nFoster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization. \nPerforms other duties as assigned. \nQualifications\nHigh school diploma/GED required. \n1+ year(s) of experience in Mission Critical Environments is required. \nMust have a valid driver's license. \nWillingness and ability to follow guidance from other staff members and management required. \nBasic understanding of email and MS office software required. \nA positive and professional attitude is always required, and very high attention to detail is required. \nPrior military or technical school training, preferred. \nElectrical or mechanical license, preferred. \nAbility to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment preferred. \nExperienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawnmowers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools preferred. \nReports To\nAssistant Manager, Critical Facilities\nLocation\nOn Site\nTravel\nMinimal travel between data centers may be required as needed.\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.\nPosition Type/ Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time, onsite position.
