Apply today and make an impact at Core Scientific.\nThe Job\nThe Director of Risk Management leads the development, implementation, and oversight of risk management strategies and frameworks to ensure the organization identifies, assesses, mitigates, and effectively manages potential enterprise risks. This role works closely with other members of executive leadership to support decision-making aligned with the organization’s risk philosophy and obligations.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and execute a comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) framework. \nIdentify, evaluate, and monitor strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks. \nLead risk assessments and scenario analyses to guide strategic and operational planning. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to embed risk awareness and mitigation strategies into business processes. \nOversee internal risk controls and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements. \nProvide risk reporting and analytics to the executive team and board of directors as requested. \nManage all facets of the Company’s insurance programs which includes but not limited to property, casualty, aviation, K&R, D&O, workers compensation. Expertise in coverage evaluation, claims resolution, policy updates and improvements, and all other tasks traditionally part of an exceptional insurance program. \nDevelop and manage risk-related policies, procedures, and training. \nLiaise with regulators, auditors, and external partners as necessary. \nStay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes. \nFoster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization. \nPerforms other duties as assigned. \nQualifications\nA bachelor’s degree in finance, business, risk management, or a related field is required. \nA master’s or MBA is strongly preferred. \n10+ years of progressive experience in risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Broker experience as well as in-house experience a plus. \nExperience in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, or healthcare is highly preferred. \nStrong knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks. \nFamiliarity with risk modeling tools, GRC platforms, and data analytics. \nExcellent communication and presentation skills, especially with senior leadership and board-level stakeholders. \nProfessional certifications such as FRM, CRM, CFA, or CPA are a plus. \nReports To \nChief Legal & Admin Officer\nLocation\nMiami, FL or Austin, TX\nTravel\nOccasional travel may be required as needed.\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a professional office environment.
