This role focuses on delivering compliant, scalable insurance products by configuring platform capabilities, extending business logic, and integrating with enterprise systems.\nYou will partner closely with product managers, business analysts, QA, and integration teams to implement rules, forms, transactions, and APIs, applying industry best practices and modern integration patterns while working within the insurance platform ecosystem.\nThe selected candidate will be required to work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office / 2 remote) from our Cincinnati, OH or Dallas, TX office. No relocation assistance is offered for this role.\nApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this position.\nKey Accountabilities & Deliverables\nConfigure insurance product models-including lines, coverages, underwriting rules, rating factors, and forms-using platform configuration tools to meet business and regulatory requirements.\nBuild and customize transactional behaviors supporting key policy lifecycle events such as quote, issue, endorsement, renewal, and cancellation.\nDevelop, test, and optimize rules and logic that automate underwriting decisions and pricing calculations.\nDesign and generate policy documents and outputs (e.g., declarations, endorsements) using XML/XSLT- or template-driven form technologies.\nDesign and implement integrations between the core insurance platform and external systems (e.g., rating services, claims vendors, finance/GL, document management, data platforms) using APIs and open standards.\nContribute to platform design decisions with a focus on maintainability, performance, and scalability; conduct peer reviews and mentor junior team members.\nProduce unit and integration tests, collaborate with QA on automation approaches, and support high-quality releases with minimal defect leakage.\nManage and optimize SQL Server database objects and operational processes, including batch jobs, data fixes, and environment support activities.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nTechnical Knowledge & Skills\nExperience configuring or extending enterprise or policy administration platforms, including transactional workflows, rules engines, forms, and integrations.\nCoding in C#/.NET Core, .NET Core Web APIs, Next.js, SQL Server, API development/integration, and application deployment\nExperience designing or consuming APIs and supporting system-to-system integrations.\nProficiency with SQL / SQL Server, including schema understanding, writing and tuning queries, and supporting batch or operational processes.\nWorking knowledge of XML, XSLT, and HTML commonly used for document generation, integrations, or platform customization.\nStrong collaboration skills with business users, QA teams, and external vendors.\nRequired Experience & Preferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).\n5+ years experience coding in C#/.NET Core, .NET Core Web APIs, Next.js, SQL Server, API development/integration, and application deployment.\n5+ years experience implementing, configuring, or extending enterprise platforms, policy administration systems, or comparable commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms required.\nPrevious experience with insurance platforms preferred.\n Exposure to API-first, headless, or modern integration architectures is preferred.\nFamiliarity with cloud or SaaS delivery models, including upgrade-friendly design and operational constraints, is a plus.\nDemonstrated mentoring or technical leadership experience, including code/configuration reviews and delivery ownership.\n DevOps / CI/CD experience preferred.\nPrevious experience with Duck Creek platform strongly preferred.\nApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over work authorization sponsorship now or in the future for this position. \n#LI-Hybrid \n-\nAt Core Specialty, you will receive a competitive salary and opportunities for professional development and advancement.
