In this hands-on role, you'll work with industry-leading equipment, perform specialized fusion operations in the field, respond to critical repair needs, and play a key role in ensuring every installation meets the highest standards of safety and quality. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving, and want to make a lasting impact, we want to hear from you.\nMajor Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities\nPrepares accurate records on maintenance, repairs and fuel levels of equipment. \nMaintains all decals, safety warnings and company ID stickers. \nCompletes work orders for internal and external repairs. \nRepairs power and mechanical equipment. \nMaintains company vehicles. \nChecks and refuels equipment. \nUndertakes complex repair and maintenance projects. \nReports safety violations to supervisor. \nPrepares equipment for rental shipment, inspects equipment for damages when returned.\nQualifications\nMust be 21 years of age\nMinimum of 3 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining McElroy fusion equipment or comparable hydraulic and electrically operated construction equipment.\nDemonstrated knowledge of polyethylene pipe fusion equipment, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.\nProficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and related components.\nProficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, including wiring, control circuits, sensors, switches, and electronic components.\nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and manufacturer service documentation.\nStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely operate diagnostic tools and shop equipment.\nValid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.\nAbility to obtain a DOT medical certificate\nAbility to lift and move equipment and components in accordance with company safety standards.\nWillingness and ability to travel overnight as required to support field service operations, attend manufacturer training programs, and fulfill other job-related responsibilities.\nAbility to successfully complete required McElroy equipment training and maintain applicable certifications.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience servicing diesel-powered, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic equipment in the utility, pipeline, or construction industries.\nAbility to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials in accordance with company safety standards.\nMcElroy equipment training and/or certification.\nOSHA safety training and other applicable industry certifications.\nExperience in underground utility, pipeline, natural gas, water, wastewater, telecommunications, mining, or construction-related industries.\nMechanical field experience. \nAdditional industry-specific safety, equipment, or operator certifications.\nCareer Level Dimensions\nTypical Training/Experience\nTechnical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. \nProblem Complexity\nMay modify processes to resolve situations. \nAutonomy\nUnder limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes.\nCourse of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies. \nLeadership\nIs sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel. \n Environmental Job Requirements\nTypically in an environment with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.\nRequires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward. \nSome traveling to job sites within the region to maintain equipment\nOvernights may be 1-2 days/time, up to 2-4 days, dependent on the severity of the repair\nCore & Main is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
