We strive to transform the global energy and transportation market by enabling cost effective and secure domestic battery supply.\n Core Responsibilities: We are seeking a Junior Process Engineerto join our battery process technology team. This role supports the development, optimization, and stabilization of electrode, cell assembly, and formation processes. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow into a process expert in next-generation battery technologies .\n Responsibilities include:\nProcess monitoring: Monitor daily production KPIs (yield, scrap, downtime) and identify abnormalities.\nData analysis: Analyze process and quality data to support root cause investigations.\nDOE execution: Assist in planning and running Design of Experiments to optimize process parameters.\nEquipment support: Work with equipment engineers to troubleshoot process issues.\nSOP documentation: Create and update standard operating procedures and work instructions.\nQuality collaboration: Support quality teams in defect analysis and corrective actions.\nSample preparation: Prepare samples for lab testing (adhesion, resistance, thickness, etc.).\nCross functional communication: Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to implement improvements.\n Preferred Technical Areas:\nElectrode process: mixing, coating, calendering, slitting\nCell assembly: stacking/Z-folding, welding, electrolyte filling, formation\nQuality systems: SPC, MSA, FMEA\nData tools: Python, JMP, Minitab, Tableau (plus)\n Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field\n0-2 years of experience in battery cell manufacturing (process development, process technology or manufacturing environment preferred)\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to work in fast-paced production environments\nBasic understanding of statistical analysis\nGood communication and teamwork skills\n Preferred Qualifications:\nInternship or project experience in battery manufacturing\nExperience with DOE, SPC, or Six Sigma tools\nFamiliarity with lithium-ion cell structure and production flow\nHands-on experience with lab measurement tools (viscometer, caliper, UTM, etc.)\n Location & Benefits:San Leandro, CA.
