As a Regional Coordination Centre (RCC), Coreso plays a crucial role in coordinating high-voltage electricity flows for European Transmission System Operators (TSOs), ensuring the security of electricity supply on a regional basis.\nTo support our mission, we are looking for a Platform Engineer to ensure that business-critical applications and platform services remain available, secure, performant and operationally supported.\nRequirements\nYou will be responsible for the platforms that host and support Coreso applications, including OpenShift, Kubernetes, Airflow, MinIO, monitoring solutions and supporting middleware services. You will work closely with software engineers, data engineers, architects and security specialists to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.\nThis role combines platform operations, automation, troubleshooting, incident response and application support within a 24/7 operational environment.\nResponsibilities\nApplication Availability & Operational Support\nEnsure business-critical applications remain operational and available.\n\nMonitor application and platform health, support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.\n\nLead or contribute to root-cause analysis for platform incidents and ensure that agreed corrective, preventive and follow-up actions are recorded, prioritised and tracked to completion.\n\nSupport application deployment and production releases.\n\nParticipate in on-call and operational support rotations.\n\nMaintain operational documentation and support procedures.\n\nPlatform Operations & Reliability\nOperate and support OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.\n\nManage Airflow orchestration services and platform dependencies.\n\nSupport MinIO object storage services.\n\nMaintain platform middleware and supporting services, platform upgrades, patching and lifecycle activities.\n\nMonitor platform performance and capacity.\n\nAutomation & Infrastructure as Code\nDevelop automation scripts and operational tooling, implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.\n\nReduce manual operational activities through automation.\n\nImprove deployment and operational processes.\n\nMonitoring & Observability\nImplement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions.\n\nDefine and improve operational dashboards, ensure meaningful metrics and actionable alerts.\n\nContribute to incident analysis and service reporting.\n\nSecurity & Compliance\nApply security-by-design principles.\n\nSupport vulnerability management and platform patching.\n\nManage secrets, certificates and access controls.\n\nContribute to compliance and audit activities.\n\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.\n\nReduce operational risk and technical debt.\n\nContribute to platform roadmaps and future architecture decisions.\n\nShare knowledge and support team development.\n\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.\n\nExperience supporting production-critical platforms and applications.\n\nExperience working in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Infrastructure Engineering roles.\n\nExperience with operational support and incident management.\n\nTechnical Skills\nRequired\nLinux administration\n\nKubernetes/OpenShift\n\nPython scripting\n\nMonitoring and observability tools\n\nInfrastructure-as-Code concepts\n\nGit and CI/CD practices\n\nTroubleshooting and incident management\n\nPreferred\nMinIO\n\nAirflow\n\nPostgreSQL\n\nTerraform, Ansible\n\nPrometheus, Grafana\n\nContainer security\n\nEnterprise networking concepts\n\nPersonal Competencies\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nOwnership and accountability\n\nStructured and methodical approach\n\nTeam player with excellent collaboration skills\n\nContinuous improvement mindset\n\nAbility to remain calm during production incidents\n\nEffective communication skills\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nWithin your first year, you will:\nBecome an active contributor to the operation of OpenShift, Airflow and supporting platform services.\n\nIndependently manage platform incidents and operational tasks.\n\nContribute to a sustainable 24/7 support capability.\n\nImprove automation, monitoring and operational efficiency.\n\nHelp reduce dependency on external support providers.\n\nEnsure Coreso applications remain stable, secure and available.\n\nWhy join us?\nWe are a small organization with European-wide impact.
