Our teams are small, ambitious, and highly execution-oriented.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a Controller to help own the accounting function.\nThis is a core accounting leadership role responsible for maintaining accurate books and records, running the monthly close, producing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, and ensuring strong financial controls across the company.\nYou will work closely with the CFO and Head of Accounting and will be responsible for making sure Corgi's accounting infrastructure is accurate, timely, and scalable as the company grows.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn Corgi's day-to-day accounting operations and general ledger.\nLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.\nPrepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reporting.\nOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, expense accounting, and account reconciliations.\nEnsure accurate recording of accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, depreciation, and other balance sheet activity.\nMaintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nEnsure accounting practices comply with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.\nManage the chart of accounts and accounting structure as the business grows.\nOversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations across Corgi's entities.\nCoordinate annual audits, tax filings, and other external accounting requirements with outside advisors.\nPartner with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.\nMonitor cash activity and work with the finance team on cash management and banking relationships.\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and automation.\nManage and develop members of the accounting team.\nServe as a key accounting partner to leadership and other teams across Corgi.\nSupport special projects and other financial initiatives as the company grows.\nWhat We're Looking For\nCPA and 7+ years of progressive accounting experience required.\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.\nExperience owning or leading a monthly close process.\nExperience managing accounting operations across multiple functions.\nStrong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement preparation.\nExperience with internal controls and accounting policies.\nExperience working with external auditors and tax advisors.\nStrong Excel / Google Sheets skills and experience with modern accounting systems.\nExcellent attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.\nStrong organizational and project management skills.\nAbility to operate independently and take ownership of the accounting function.\nExcellent communication skills and comfort working directly with senior leadership.\nWhy Corgi\nCorgi is an unusually ambitious company.
