Corgi is an AI-native commercial insurance company and financial technology carrier designed for technology companies, startups, and high-growth enterprises. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, the company was founded in 2024 by Nico Laqua and Emily Yuan through Y Combinator's startup accelerator. Operating as a full-stack risk retention group and licensed carrier, the company leverages artificial intelligence to automate underwriting, policy administration, and claims processing.

About Corgi

At Corgi, we’re building an AI-native insurance carrier. We underwrite and issue policies, combining technology with insurance expertise to understand risk, move quickly, and deliver a better experience for customers and broker partners. We’ve raised over $108 million and are building our trucking insurance business from the ground up.

We’re looking for a Marketing Lead to own how we communicate that business: what we offer, how our products work, and why brokers and customers should choose us.

About the role

This is a hands-on role for an exceptional writer with strong marketing judgment and an eye for design. You’ll lead product launch communications, establish a consistent publishing cadence for our broker partners, own website content and marketing materials, support company-wide communications, and manage our presence at events and conferences.

Excellent writing is the most important qualification for this role. You should be able to take a complicated subject, understand it thoroughly, and explain it with clarity and precision. Your work should be compelling because you understand the business and your audience.

That requires learning quickly. Trucking insurance has meaningful nuances across coverage, underwriting, distribution, and operations. You’ll need to develop a strong understanding of those details, ask thoughtful questions, and recognize when a seemingly small wording choice changes the meaning of what we’re communicating.

You’ll work directly with Drew Bregman and Brianna Lynch, the executives leading this division, and collaborate closely with underwriting, sales, product, and operations. You’ll own both the plan and the finished work.

What you’ll own

  • Writing and editorial quality. Set the standard for clear, accurate, polished communication. Write and edit announcements, emails, presentations, website copy, product materials, and executive communications. Adapt the message for brokers, customers, employees, and industry audiences.

  • New product launches. Lead the marketing work from positioning through launch. Develop the messaging, launch plan, broker announcements, website updates, FAQs, and sales materials. Coordinate with internal teams so every launch clearly communicates what’s available, who it serves, and how to get started.

  • Broker partner communications. Establish and own a weekly or every-other-week publishing cadence. Keep partners informed about new products, underwriting appetite, product availability, operational updates, and useful guidance. Make every communication relevant, easy to understand, and actionable.

  • Company-wide communications. Turn leadership priorities, business updates, and product developments into clear internal announcements and presentations. Help employees understand what is changing, why it matters, and what they need to do.

  • Website and marketing materials. Own the quality and accuracy of our website copy, landing pages, product explainers, decks, one-pagers, and other collateral. Keep materials current as the business evolves.

  • Design and brand consistency. Own the visual quality of our marketing across web, email, presentations, print, and events. Establish consistent typography, layouts, and templates. Produce polished materials and direct additional design resources when needed.

  • Events and conferences. Plan and execute our participation in industry events, including messaging, materials, logistics, on-site presentation, and follow-up. Work with sales and leadership to turn our presence into productive broker and customer relationships.

What we’re looking for

  • Exceptional written communication. Your writing is precise, well structured, and persuasive. You edit carefully and can show strong examples of work you personally wrote.

  • Fast learning and intellectual curiosity. You can become fluent in a complex business, identify what you don’t understand, and work with subject matter experts to get the details right.

  • Experience owning marketing or communications. You’ve taken projects from an initial brief through publication or launch, with responsibility for quality and execution.

  • Strong design judgment. You understand hierarchy, typography, layout, and consistency, and can create professional materials using tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable platforms.

  • Reliable execution. You can maintain a publishing schedule while managing launches, events, and requests from multiple teams.

  • High ownership. You identify what needs to happen, make sound decisions, and follow through without requiring detailed instructions.

  • Ability to work in person in Boston.

Experience in commercial insurance, trucking, financial services, or another technical industry is valuable. You do not need to arrive as an insurance expert, but you do need to demonstrate that you can learn the business deeply enough to communicate it accurately.

Your first 60 days

  • Build a working understanding of our products, underwriting appetite, broker relationships, and operating model.
  • Audit our website, communications, and collateral, then prioritize the most important improvements.
  • Establish the broker communication cadence and publish the first updates.
  • Create consistent messaging and design templates for product launches, presentations, and company communications.
  • Deliver the marketing materials for an upcoming product launch and establish an events calendar with clear objectives.

Compensation and benefits

  • $100,000-$120,000 base salary, based on experience and demonstrated ability
  • Equity
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Full-time, in person in Boston

Interview process

  • Introductory conversation.
  • Review of two writing samples and selected marketing or design work.
  • Paid work exercise using a product brief we provide: draft a launch announcement, a broker partner update, and a simple marketing asset. Compensation: $1,000.
  • On-site conversation and working session with the team.

To apply, share your résumé, two writing samples, and examples of marketing materials you’ve created. For each sample, briefly explain the audience, objective, and your contribution.
