Analyze requirements for and design, develop, implement, maintain and upgradeComplex Rails end-to-end software systems and web pages in support of the information technology needs of the College.\nDesign, develop, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications with complex relational database backends (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.), selecting technologies (Ruby, Rails, PHP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, XHTML, XML, etc.) that best support maintainability, performance, and user experience.\nDesign, code, test, debug, document and maintain complex programs or Rails end-to-end systems; develop enhancements that enable a positive end-user experience.\nCommunicate with users for needs analysis and provide resolution.\nEstablish and contribute to a detailed program specification through discussion with clients.\nAssist in research and fact-finding to develop or modify complex software systems; Formulate and define system scope and objectives to develop or modify complex software systems.\nResearch, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.\nComplete and document phases of projects.\nCreate and implement project specifications/plans for projects with straightforward inter-dependency with other systems and/or projects.\nModify complex application programs from detailed specifications.\nEvaluate code to ensure that it is valid, properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.\nReview code written by peers to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets project standards and is compatible with browsers, devices or operating systems.\nAnalyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports when required.\nCollaborate with project team members including project manager, business analysts, subject matter experts, other developers and quality assurance specialists.\nContribute to and influence technology decisions by actively seeking information about new software technologies and techniques to meet business needs and objectives.\nActively seek out and apply upgrades to existing software packages as needed.\nThis is a 3 year term appointment which may be ended or extended based on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance.\nThis position is eligible for remote work within the United States.
