This role assists in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while promoting a safe and sustainable work environment. The EHS Technician I works under guidance to monitor safety practices, conduct inspections, and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nKEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nRegulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.\nInspection & Risk Identification: Support routine workplace inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and unsafe conditions.\nKPI and performance tracking: Support and sustain collection and reporting and communication of data to plant and organization stakeholders.\nIncident Investigation Support: Assist with incident investigations, including documenting findings and helping identify root causes and corrective actions.\nSafety Training: Help coordinate and deliver basic safety training programs, including new hire orientation and recurring safety topics.\nData Collection & Reporting: Maintain safety records, track basic safety metrics, and assist with report preparation.\nEnvironmental Support: Assist with waste management, SPCC, recycling programs, and environmental compliance activities.\nEmergency Preparedness: Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness initiatives.\nProcurement and maintenance support for safety related equipment: Control of PPE stock and creation of replenishment requisitions.\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nBasic understanding of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety practices\nAbility to use computers, including MS office suite, ERP for procurement and other EHS specific software\nAbility to identify hazards and recognize unsafe conditions\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\n Education: High school Diploma, GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience\nCertifications (Preferred): OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification; willingness to obtain additional certification\n0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment (internship/co-op experience acceptable)\nBasic knowledge of OSHA regulations or workplace safety principles preferred\nStrong communication and organizational skills\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively\nDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nLifting Capacity - ability to lift up 30 lbs.\nMobility - prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.\nExposure - moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment.\nNoise Tolerance - high noise levels.\n Site Address: 7301 Fairview Street, Houston, TX 77041\nAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nWhy work for Cornerstone Building Brands?\nOur teams are at the heart of our purpose to positively contribute to the communities where we live, work and play.
