This role assists with compliance activities, conducts routine inspections, supports training initiatives, and works closely with employees and supervisors to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSupport, monitor and assist the EHS Manager and Plant team on identifying and controlling safety hazards\nSupport and enforce EHS policies as well as applicable regulatory standards\nParticipate in the incident investigation process\nKeep records of environmental, health & safety-related workplace incidents and propose corrective actions. Interact with Cornerstone EHS Origami software.\nTrain associates on environmental, health & safety requirements to ensure compliance with plant EHS policies as well as applicable Federal and State environmental, health & safety regulations\nIdentify safety hazards and prepare reports of findings with recommendations for corrective action\nCoordinate or assist with required annual occupational health exams (ex.: hearing tests) disbursement of PPE vouchers (ex.: safety footwear vouchers) if facility uses vouchers\nInvestigate and determine root cause of incidents to identify preventative safety measures for incorporation into the safety program\nConduct trend analysis, audits, incident investigations and site inspections of operational procedures\nPerform periodic storm water sampling, reporting, and training if facility has a storm water permit and storm water pollution prevention plan\nCoordinate with responsible facility personnel to consistently maintain adequate safety supplies & equipment including inventory, disbursement, ordering, expiration dates, etc.\nRender First Aid care to associates as needed\nWork closely with management and associates in promoting a safety awareness and hazard prevention culture\nPerform or assist with new hire orientation, BBS and annual safety training.\nConduct and update Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) hazard assessments of all Production positions\nIntervene in unsafe activities or operations by STOP work.\nAbility to manage several work projects and activities under pressure with the ability to prioritize, as advised by the EHS Manager.\nParticipate in and coordinate Behavior Based Safety observation program\nPerform other duties as assigned by the EHS Department Manager\nLeading by example in complying with site EHS rules and other policies\n Qualifications\nExperience\n0-2 years of experience in safety.\nExposure to high-volume manufacturing or assembly environments preferred (windows, doors, or similar building products a plus).\nSkills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nProficient with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools.\nExcellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; trade school or certifications preferred.\nPreferred Qualifications\nSecondary education (some college) is desirable\nDemonstrated experience and knowledge in Environmental, Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment is a plus\n3 years of experience with Microsoft Office software (primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email)\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nStanding, walking, bending, and climbing ladders for extended periods.\nExposure to cleaning chemicals, machinery noise, and varying temperatures.\nWork Environment\nPrimarily office and production floor environment.\nRegular interaction with operators, maintenance, and quality teams.\nRegular exposure to dust, debris, and cleaning agents.\nMust wear required PPE in designated areas.\n Why work for Cornerstone Building Brands?\nOur teams are at the heart of our purpose to positively contribute to the communities where we live, work and play.
