This role manages and develops Staff and Senior Accountants while ensuring accurate, timely, and US GAAP-compliant results.\nThe successful candidate brings strong technical accounting judgment, experience leading complex close and audit processes, and a record of building high-performing teams and improving processes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet tie-outs, and intercompany activity.\nManage close tasks and approvals in FloQast and JDE, resolving issues and ensuring accurate, timely completion.\nOversee reporting through OneStream and Hubble and ensure results reconcile to the general ledger.\nAnalyze and communicate actual-to-budget and forecast variances for management reviews.\nServe as the primary contact for our third-party audit partner and coordinate audit timelines, requests, and support packages.\nTrack open items and coordinate timely responses across Accounting, Tax, regional teams, and other stakeholders.\nIdentify and address potential findings or control deficiencies before and during the audit.\nMaintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.\nPartner with Internal Controls to maintain the Risk and Control Matrix and support control documentation and testing.\nCommunicate technical accounting guidance and lead remediation of control or segregation-of-duties issues.\nLead, coach, and develop Staff and Senior Accountants through clear priorities, feedback, and development plans.\nBuild consistent close procedures, cross-training, and coverage while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties.\nFoster a collaborative, accountable, continuous-improvement culture and support workforce planning and recruiting.\nPartner with Cost Accounting, Regional Controllers, Corporate Accounting, OneStream, and FP&A on close, consolidation, reporting, and analysis.\nProvide accounting expertise for system implementations, process improvements, integrations, and other special projects.\n Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.\nCPA preferred; MBA or other advanced degree a plus.\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years leading accounting staff.\nExperience managing full-cycle close and external audits; public accounting strongly preferred.\nManufacturing or building products experience is a plus.\nExperience with Oracle JDE preferred; FloQast, OneStream, Hubble, FAS, or LAS familiarity is a plus.\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting research.\nProven leadership, coaching, and talent-development skills.\nStrong organization, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage a fast-paced close.\nClear analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel and reconciliation/data-analysis skills.\n All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nWhy work for Cornerstone Building Brands?\nOur teams are at the heart of our purpose to positively contribute to the communities where we live, work and play.
