He or she will demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit while interacting with staff and congregants. He or she will have a teachable spirit and protect the confidential data and financial integrity of the Church. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.\nPerformance Dimensions and Tasks\nAccounting Support\nRecord entries in proper accounts\nReview accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences\nPrepare adjusting journal entries\nSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports\nProvide recommendations regarding daily operating procedures to identify improvements in workflow and/or reporting procedures\nEnsure compliance with all current accounting principles\nSupport the development and analysis of budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted cost to actual cost\nSupport the preparation, examination, and analysis of accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards\nEnsure daily operations and monthly reporting comply with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and assist in developing new/updating existing accounting policies and related procedures for compliance purposes as-needed\nAnalyze business operations, trends, cost, revenue, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenue and expenses and assist in operational business decision making\nDevelop, implement, modify, and document record-keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology\nAdvise management about issues such as resource utilization and/or the assumptions underlying budget forecasts\nAppraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, recording information such as the description, value, and location of the property\nSurvey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems\nResolve congregant questions pertaining to contributions\nSupport auditor request\nJob Specifications\nAge:Minimum age of 18 required; minimum age of 21 preferred. \nEducation:Bachelor of Science in Accounting required; CPA preferred\nExperience:3-5 years of experience in an accounting role required\nKnowledge:Proficient in Microsoft Suite; knowledge of QuickBooks Online\nSkills/Abilities: Possesses interpersonal skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills, and is detail-oriented and organized\nOther Characteristics:Patient, maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job, teachable spirit, and completes tasks in a timely manner\n______________________________________________________________________________\nJob Context: Seated desk work, in-person\nJob Status:Full-time, Exempt\nIf you have questions about this position, please contact Elizabeth Gordon, Director of HR.\n\nThank you!\nIs this still accurate?
