You will manage daily outbound parcel operations, coach a team of shipping associates, keep carrier handoffs on schedule, and drive safety, accuracy, and productivity across every shift you cover.\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam leadership\nSupervise, schedule, and assign shipping associates across pick-to-ship, packing, labeling, and dock staging.\n\nHire, onboard, train, and coach team members; deliver timely performance feedback and reviews.\n\nHandle attendance, corrective action, and employee relations in partnership with HR.\n\nSet clear daily goals and hold shift huddles to review volume, priorities, and safety topics.\n\nDaily shipping operations\nPlan labor and workflow each shift against order volume, cut-off times, and service levels (same-day, next-day, expedited).\n\nMake sure every order ships by its carrier cut-off, and escalate backlogs before they miss the pickup.\n\nManage packing standards, packaging materials, and dimensional weight to control shipping cost and damage.\n\nOversee returns processing handoffs and exception handling (address errors, split shipments, held orders).\n\nCarrier and logistics coordination\nCoordinate daily pickups and trailer loading with parcel and LTL carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, regional carriers).\n\nVerify manifests, tracking scans, and carrier documentation; resolve missed scans and pickup discrepancies.\n\nWork with customer service and carriers on lost, delayed, or damaged shipments.\n\nQuality, accuracy, and continuous improvement\nTrack and improve order accuracy, on-time ship rate, units per labor hour, and cost per shipment.\n\nAudit outbound orders, investigate mis-ships, and lead root-cause corrections.\n\nRecommend and implement process, layout, and automation improvements (batching, pack stations, label printing).\n\nMaintain accurate inventory and shipment records in the WMS and OMS.\n\nSafety and compliance\nEnforce safety policies, PPE use, and safe equipment operation (pallet jacks, conveyors, powered industrial trucks).\n\nInvestigate incidents and near misses, and keep the work area clean, organized, and 5S compliant.\n\nFollow hazmat, lithium battery, and carrier packaging regulations where applicable.\n\nPeak season and flexibility\nPlan for peak periods (Black Friday through the holidays, major promotions): seasonal hiring, extended shifts, and surge staffing.\n\nCover other shifts or functions as business needs require.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\n5+ years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or e-commerce fulfillment operations, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.\n\nWorking knowledge of parcel shipping: carrier services, manifesting, labeling, and cut-off times.\n\nExperience with a warehouse management system (WMS), order management system (OMS), or shipping software (e.g., ProShip, ShipStation, ShipHero, NetSuite, SAP, or similar - preferably ProShip).\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel or Sheets for tracking labor and shipping metrics.\n\nStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coach and motivate a diverse team.\n\nAbility to prioritize and make sound decisions under tight deadlines and changing volumes.\n\nCommitment to safety, accuracy, and quality in every shift.\n\nFlexibility to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours during peak season.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nPreferred\nAssociate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or business.\n\nExperience in a direct-to-consumer or multi-channel e-commerce environment (Shopify, Amazon, or marketplace integrations).\n\nLean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training or certification.\n\nPowered industrial truck certification and OSHA safety training.\n\nExperience with labor planning, KPI dashboards, and cost-per-shipment analysis.\n\nBilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.\n\nPhysical requirements\nStand and walk for most of a shift in a warehouse environment.\n\nLift and carry up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.\n\nBend, reach, push, and pull;
