As a Data Security Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain technical data protection solutions-primarily within Microsoft Purview-to safeguard sensitive information across a large-scale hybrid environment. This role involves close collaboration with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to identify risks, enforce data handling policies, and ensure regulatory alignment.\nThe ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data security engineering, a strong understanding of best practices, and a creative approach to identifying and closing gaps in data protection. You will play a key role in shaping the future of data security at Corteva and must be comfortable working across technical and project management domains.\nThe successful candidate may be located in Indianapolis, IN, Johnston, IA, or, for highly qualified individuals, remotely within the United States.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDevelop, configure, and maintain DLP policies and labeling solutions across endpoints, email, cloud, and network environments using Microsoft Purview.\nBuild out new and continuously improve current DLP policies based on customer feedback, business needs, and regulatory requirements.\nManage configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of DLP and data classification policies.\nIntegrate DLP solutions with SIEM, CASB, endpoint protection, and other security platforms.\nMonitor and optimize technical components of the Data Protection program, tuning DLP rules to reduce false positives and manage exceptions.\nDrive change management for DLP and data protection initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption and compliance.\nCollaborate with security, IT, and business teams to understand data flows, integrate Purview capabilities, and align controls with business needs.\nPartner with vendors to ensure alignment with industry best practices for data protection.\nAnalyze data protection risks in both persistent and transit layers; design sustainable mitigation strategies.\nDocument complex process flows and communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes; recommend updates to DLP strategy.\nDevelop and execute test plans for DLP solutions across multiple environments (development, staging, production) to ensure robust deployment and minimize risk.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred but not required).\n5+ years of experience in data loss prevention or data security engineering.\n7+ years of experience in information security.\n2+ years of experience in a senior-level engineering role.\nHands-on experience with:\nMicrosoft Purview Information Protection (MIP labels, Purview DLP).\nEnterprise DLP administration and configuration.\nIntegration of DLP with SIEM, CASB, and endpoint protection platforms.\nAbility to lead technical projects and collaborate in a global environment.\nExcellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)\nCISM (Certified Information Security Manager)\nExperience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft O365\nVISA sponsorship is not available for this position.\nBenefits - How We’ll Support You:\nNumerous development opportunities offered to build your skills\n\nBe part of a company with a higher purpose and contribute to making the world a better place\n\nHealth benefits for you and your family on your first day of employment\n\nFour weeks of paid time off and two weeks of well-being pay per year, plus paid holidays\n\nExcellent parental leave which includes a minimum of 16 weeks for mother and father\n\nFuture planning with our competitive retirement savings plan and tuition reimbursement program\n\nLearn more about our total rewards package here - Corteva Benefits\n\nCheck out life at Corteva! www.linkedin.com/company/corteva/life\n\nAre you a good match?
