journalism. \nGlobal News is seeking two full-time ENG (Video) Editors for the Morning Show based in Toronto. \nReporting to the Executive Producer, TMS & Entertainment, you will contribute to the creation of compelling visual content for audiences across multiple markets and platforms.\nThe role is primarily early morning but could include shift work as required.\nThis position is designated as Group 2 under the current collective agreement.\n\nYou will contribute by:\nEdit video and audio into engaging content for entertainment, news, current affairs, and special programming across multiple platforms.\nWork both independently and collaboratively to produce creative, technically accurate content with minimal supervision.\nCollaborate with producers on rundowns, scripts, and audio/visual requirements across various formats and sources.\nRe-edit, enhance, and package incoming feeds, FTP content, affiliate material, and shared resources for multi-market use.\nApply advanced effects techniques (e.g., packaging multi-cam shoots, blurring, pixelation, voice alteration, time-lapse, zoom, layering, highlighting footage).\nDevelop and integrate graphic and packaging elements as required.\nUse graphic systems (e.g., Xpression) to manage templates, supers, banners, and full-frame visuals.\nUtilize news production systems, including rundowns, scripting, and timing workflows.\nSource and recommend visuals that enhance storytelling.\nCreate and maintain stock reels for future use.\nPublish content and abstracts to websites and other social platforms\nDemonstrate a strong understanding of journalistic standards and newsroom practices.\n\nSkills & experience you will bring:\nPost-secondary education in broadcast technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum 2 years’ experience with non-linear editing tools (e.g., Grass Valley Edius, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).\nCreative storyteller with a willingness to innovate and experiment in a digital news environment.\nAdaptable and comfortable navigating evolving technologies and media platforms\nAbility to perform under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.\nStrong knowledge of social media tools and digital distribution.\nCollaborative team player who contributes positively to team dynamics.\nHighly motivated with a positive attitude and openness to feedback.\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams.\nExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.\nStrong
