Reporting directly to the Finance Manager of Affiliate Revenues, this role is part of a team that supports the Affiliates revenue team and leads our month end processes. \nAs the successful candidate, you have a proven track record for driving continuous improvement in a strong internal controls environment. You have excellent communication and analytical abilities, as well as demonstrated extremely high level of accuracy with excellent attention to details. \n\nYou will contribute by:\nResponsible for monthly subscriber functions that include: tracking and analyzing subscriber revenue variances\nAssist/verify General Accountant’s subscriber entries\nGenerate and review subscriber invoices\nTracking and analyzing revenue adjustments and receivable balances\nPrepare monthly revenue journal entries.\nWork with various departments including: Credit and Sales Department for any remittance questions\nContent Distribution team for any subscriber related analysis requests.\nWork with other teams within Finance for any subscriber related questions and requests.\nCoordinate with Cable companies on payment and/or remittance inquiries, and issue resolutions.\nParticipate in the Month and Quarter end close processes, reconciliations and reporting, including providing variance commentary support (Accrual validation, Rate audit review, OPEX). \nParticipate in the annual budget/planning and monthly forecasting process\nUpdate actual subscriber numbers into forecast workbook for the Planning department\nAssist with identifying potential Medea process improvements and testing for Medea system updates/upgrades.\nParticipate and coordinate with IT/vendor in the investigation and resolution of system issues and/or change requests (i.e Medea, Automation modules).\nWork with both internal and external auditors by preparing the quarterly audit packages.\nAssist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as required\nTrain new members of the team.\n\nSkills and experience you will bring:\nUniversity or College Degree and enrollment in CPA is preferred\n3-4 years practical work experience with a publicly traded organization \nStrong computer skills in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, macro)\nExperience with Great Plains accounting software an asset\nPrevious broadcast/subscriber revenue (Medea) experience an asset\nTeam player with strong interpersonal communication skills having the ability to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management in a professional manner \nBeing results oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities with conflicting deadlines.\nExcellent analytical and
