We believe a culture of caring, purposeful, diverse and courageous humans who want to make a difference for our partners will help us achieve that mission. \nHow You'll Contribute to the Team: \nThe Housekeeping Supervisor will work under the supervision of the Operations Director coordinating and supervising all aspects of daily and periodic cleaning in a designated facility to include; inspection of living areas to ensure cleanliness; supervision of housekeeping personnel; determining appropriate staffing levels required for work projects; meeting with occupants to monitor/ensure standards of cleanliness; may coordinate setup for events.\nPrimary Responsibilities Include: \nPlan the daily custodial activities within a designated building or group of buildings.\nSupervise Custodial Crew Leaders, Custodial Workers, Laborers and other classified, temporary, or student employees engaged in custodial activities.\nEnsure the maintenance of a minimum of an APPA Level 2 cleaning standard for the designated facility through supervision and leadership of such activities.\nCleaning of lobby and public areas by emptying trash, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning glass to ensure neat and sanitary residential areas.\nCleaning of restrooms by emptying trash, mopping floors, cleaning fixtures, and supplying paper products to ensure sanitary and adequately supplied restrooms.\nCleaning of hallway areas by emptying trash receptacles and vacuuming to ensure a sanitary residential area.\nMaintain inventory of cleaning supplies to ensure supplies are available when needed.\nMaintain inventory of residence halls' linens and supplies for summer conferences to ensure supplies are available when needed.\nOversee the recycling program at each assigned facility making sure of proper adherence to standards of recycling set by such organizations as the National Recycling Coalition (NRC).\nAssist in hiring and supervising summer cleaning crew by recruiting workers and by organizing work schedule according to the summer conference and campus events schedule.\nSupervise and lead the unit turnover cleaning process.\nEnsure appropriate training of staff, identify training needs, and develop and implement training activities.\nInspect assigned buildings and work areas regularly, including buildings cleaned by contracted employees to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained.\nPrepare electronic reports and presentations.\nAct as liaison between departmental staff within facility and advise management of housekeeping needs.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRole Specific Requirements Include: \nHigh school graduate.\nMinimum of 8 years of housekeeping experience with five (5) or more years in a supervisory capacity required.\nExperience managing multiple residential sites and teams at the same time is strongly preferred.\nExperience in a union environment strongly preferred.\nFamiliarity with APPA cleaning standards preferred.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office along with computer-based maintenance software.\nExcellent oral communication skills; ability to interface with internal and external clients at all levels.\nCompetencies: \nCustomer Focus - Prioritizes and takes action on the needs of both internal and external customers.
