Cosette has corporate and manufacturing facilities in New Jersey and North Carolina and is supported by more than 300 dedicated employees across all functional areas.\nInnovating every day.™\nBasic Purpose\nMaintain operation of wastewater treatment systems to support production, manage waste generated by compounding, packaging, maintenance, IT, and the lab in accordance with facility procedure and regulatory requirements. Provide EHS support services and expertise to production staff.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities\nAct as primary wastewater treatment system operator for oil/water separation and pH adjustment. Including, but not limited to, daily monitoring of treatment system performance, replacing chemicals, ensuring proper stock of chemicals, coordinating sludge pick-up, regular cleaning, and other tasks necessary to maintain proper operation of the treatment system.\nPerform periodic wastewater sampling in accordance with the facility’s Industrial Users Permit or to satisfy preventative maintenance tasks.\nManage accumulated production waste (non-hazardous and hazardous) daily from compounding, packaging, maintenance, the labs, or IT.\nTrack hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation, prepare wastes for shipment, assist with coordination of waste shipments, load waste trucks, and ensure proper storage, labeling and management.\nEnsure compliance with RCRA and DOT regulations as it relates to waste generated by the facility.\nMaintain the discard cage and the hazardous waste storage areas in orderly, compliant condition always. \nPerform EHS inspection, hazardous waste storage room inspections, spill kit inspections and maintenance, SPCC inspections, equipment calibrations and other EHS maintenance activities daily, weekly, or as required.\nParticipate on the HAZMAT Team, the First Aid Team and the EHS Team.\nAssist Manager, EHS with day-to-day responsibilities of EHS Department.\nPerform training on EHS topics, as needed.\nCoordinate lab waste transfer to proper storage.\nManage recycling containers to prevent spills, leaks or damage.\nParticipate in near-miss and incident investigations to determine root cause and assist in developing preventive and corrective actions.\nParticipate in risk assessments and job safety analysis.\nSpecial project and other work-related duties as deemed necessary.\nKnowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Physical Requirements\nThe following describes the general knowledge, skills, qualifications, and physical requirements normally associated with performing the essential functions of this job. In compliance with law Cosette Laboratories will consider varying or modifying these standards to provide individuals with disabilities an equal employment opportunity.\nEducation/Training/Work Experience\nHigh school diploma. \nGeneral knowledge of industrial workplace and associated environment, health and safety policies, practices, and regulations.\nCollege attendance is desired. \nSpecialized Knowledge and Skills\nExperience with Industrial wastewater treatment by means of chemical and physical processes.\nFamiliar with dissolved air flotation (DAF) system operation.\nKnowledge of wastewater treatment chemistry includes Chemically enhanced separation, acid/base chemistry, coagulants and flocculants, and solubility and precipitation.\nMechanical ability to assist with repair and maintenance of pumps and motors.\nHazardous waste management per US EPA’s Resource Conservation and Recovery ACT (RCRA) regulations.\nDepartment of Transportation hazardous material shipper certification.\nCurrent First Aid/AED/CPR, Train the Trainer, and HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain.\nMust be able to respond appropriately in emergency situations.\nKnowledge of processes for continuous improvement such as six sigma and lean management systems.\nFamiliarity with machine guarding and control of hazardous energy standards.\nExperience with confine space identification, permits, entry and rescue.\nKnowledge of fall prevention and protection methods, aerial lift and ladder safety.\nPowered industrial truck operator and ability to complete train the trainer course.\nKnowledge of ergonomic concepts.\nCapable of wearing tight fitting respirator and completing 24-hour hazardous material technician training.\nExperience operating sampling equipment to include sound level meters, gas meters, and sampling pumps.\nMust always present a positive customer service attitude. \nMust be always professional in both appearance and attitude, able to work under deadlines, handle confidential information, give close attention to detail and accuracy, exhibit initiative, be dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment. \nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nEquipment and Applications\nGood mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.\nOperate specialized equipment associated with wastewater treatment, various instruments, and hand tools.\nComputer knowledge: Microsoft Outlook email, Microsoft Office preferred.\nOperate powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently. \nWork Environment and Physical Demands (List required PPE’s)\nAble to stand for periods of time on concrete floors, climb steps, ramps, and ladders in a manufacturing environment.\nWear personal protective equipment, safety glasses/goggles, protective clothing (gloves, lab coat, full protective suit), and respiratory protection (full face respirator or PAPR).\nMust be able to participate on the HAZMAT Team.\nLifting up to 50 lbs. on a periodic basis.\nAble to manually move materials in containers up to 55 gallons in size.\nEqual Opportunity Employment\nCosette Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to providing equal employment opportunity to all applicants and employees in all phases of our operations.
