Up to 100% travel.\nCompany Overview\nOur mission is to accelerate the construction of critical infrastructure on Earth while pioneering technologies to enable humanity to build beyond. Starting with Cosmic-1 - a system that installs solar panels 10x faster than today's methods, helping us transition to a clean energy future and laying the groundwork for the future of autonomous construction.\nThe Role\nYou'll be Cosmic's leader in the field, deploying and running Cosmic-1, our solar module installation robot, on utility-scale solar sites across the US. On some projects you'll run the robot yourself full-time. On others, you'll train and support our customer crews running a fleet of robots.\nYou'll stay on site for the full length of each project, learn how our customers build, and make sure the robots deliver value every day. You'll be the main link between the field and engineering: reproducing bugs, supporting hardware testing, and bringing back critical feedback from the field.\nResponsibilities\nOperate Cosmic-1 safely and productively on customer jobsites\n\nTrain customer crews to operate the robot and support their operations\n\nPerform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and field repairs on mechanical, electrical, and sensor systems\n\nSend daily reports on production, uptime, issues, and safety\n\nServe as Cosmic's on-site safety representative\n\nFind, reproduce, and document bugs with engineering, and help test new features in the field and at our facility\n\nInstall, swap, and calibrate sensors and other components\n\nHelp build best practices for field ops, maintenance, and customer training\n\nLearn solar construction in depth, and complete trip and expense reports\n\nSchedule & Travel\nUp to 100% travel, based on a jobsite for the full length of a project (typically weeks to months)\n\nOnsite hours match our customer's site schedule. Typically 5 days per week, but could extend to weekend work during peak times\n\nTravel and lodging covered\n\nRequirements\nStrong mechanical and electrical skills: hand and power tools, wiring, multimeter diagnostics\n\nClear communicator who can work with customer construction teams and an ability to teach others\n\nDetail-oriented, safety-first, and resourceful\n\nValid US driver's license and clean driving record; able to drive trucks and operate heavy equipment\n\nOSHA 30 Construction training required. Cosmic will provide the training if you don't have it.\n\nMust pass a background check, drug screen, and meet any other customer screening requirements\n\nBonus\n2+ years of hands-on experience operating, maintaining, or repairing heavy equipment, industrial machinery, robotics, or field-deployed electromechanical systems\n\nUtility-scale solar construction experience, especially module installation or trackers\n\nExperience training crews or leading a small field team\n\nConstruction, oil and gas, mining, agriculture, or military background\n\nWorking fluency in Spanish (enough to talk through tasks and safety on a jobsite)\n\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nThe work happens outdoors on active solar sites around heavy equipment, often in remote areas in the elements.\nLift and carry up to 45 lb repeatedly, including over uneven ground\n\nStand and walk for 10 hours a day; bend, kneel, and climb onto equipment\n\nWear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-vis, steel-toe boots)","description_format":"text","description_chars":3476,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":2,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"Spanish","level":"Advanced (C1)","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Construction Robotics","Construction"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-21T20:43:58Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":74,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.825,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":12,"expected_fill_days":23,"reasons":["conf:3","win:mid","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-11-03T05:54:40Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/cosmic-robotics-robot-deployment-technician","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/cosmic-robotics-robot-deployment-technician.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-03T23:25:26Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2105,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-04T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":674500},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=674500"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fcosmic-robotics-robot-deployment-technician"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fcosmic-robotics-robot-deployment-technician"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fcosmic-robotics-robot-deployment-technician"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/cosmic-robotics-robot-deployment-technician\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fcosmic-robotics-robot-deployment-technician"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3032795}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"cosmicrobotics.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3032795},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
