EHS Specialist leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System and Workplace Safety Program, requiring a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental Science, a postgraduate diploma and minimum 3 years EHS experience with ISO 14001:2015 knowledge, in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, on-site role.\n\nJob Summary:\n\nWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Environmental Management System (EMS) and Workplace Safety Program.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nImplement and maintain environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, SOPs, and emergency response programs.\n\nEnsure compliance with environmental and occupational safety legislation, ISO 14001:2015 requirements, and company standards.\n\nConduct environmental and safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.\n\nManage environmental permits, licenses, regulatory reporting, and relationships with agencies such as NEMA and DOSH.\n\nOversee pharmaceutical waste management, chemical safety, environmental monitoring, and compliance activities.\n\nCoordinate EHS training programs and promote employee awareness on environmental and workplace safety matters.\n\nMonitor safety infrastructure, PPE compliance, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness systems.\n\nTrack environmental and safety performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.\n\nPostgraduate Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental Management.\n\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in an EHS role.\n\nPractical experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.\n\nStrong knowledge of Kenyan environmental and occupational health & safety legislation.\n\nNEBOSH IGC/Diploma and ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor training will be an added advantage.\n\nExperience within a pharmaceutical/manufacturing environment is desirable.\n\nKey Competencies:\n\nExcellent communication, training and presentation skills.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing abilities.\n\nHigh attention to detail and regulatory compliance focus.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independently.\n\nStrong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.\n\nCrisis management skills for environmental and safety emergencies.\n\nHow to Apply\n\nInterested candidates who meet the above requirements are encouraged to submit their application, indicating the position title in the subject line.\nDeadline;
