The successful candidate will serve as a trusted legal partner to CoStar’s operating businesses-supporting commercial transactions, advising brand leaders, and helping modernize contracting processes through improved workflows, templates, automation, AI, and other tools.\nReporting to the Zonda general counsel, this position primarily supports the legal needs of Zonda, and potentially other CoStar operating businesses, across sales, procurement, product, marketing, and operations. This position offers substantial client contact, ownership of significant business matters, direct interaction with business leadership, and opportunities to assume increasing responsibility over time. In addition to drafting and negotiating agreements, the role plays a central part in intake management, workflow prioritization, and continuous improvement of contracting processes.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong commercial judgment, an operational mindset, and a desire to partner with the business on both execution and strategy.\nThis position will be located in Irvine, California and is in office Monday through Friday. Travel for on-site meetings may be required.\nKey Responsibilities\nDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements\nSupport general corporate legal matters, including collaborating on special projects related to M&A, product development, piracy, and regulatory compliance\nProvide practical, risk-based guidance to internal stakeholders\nManage day-to-day intake and workflow for contract and legal requests from internal teams and external customers\nHelp prioritize matters in a high-volume environment, balancing speed, risk, and business objectives\nCreate, maintain, and distribute template agreements, playbooks, and standard addenda for scalable use across the company\nIdentify and implement better ways of working to reduce friction, improve turnaround times, and drive adoption of improved legal processes across the operating businesses\nLeverage AI tools, automation, and other technologies to improve contract review, drafting, issue spotting, and knowledge management\nServe as a legal advisor to brand and business leaders, supporting strategy, growth initiatives, and operational decision-making\nParticipate in discussions around new products, partnerships, and go-to-market initiatives\nContribute ideas and perspectives on how legal can better enable growth while managing risk\nQualifications\nJuris Doctor (JD) required; admission to at least one state bar, active and in good standing\n5-8 years of experience; some in-house experience preferred\nExperience with, or understanding of, real estate will be considered helpful\nWhat's in it for you?\nWhen you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.\nWe offer you generous compensation and performance-based incentives.
