We characterize and qualify camera and LiDAR components, evaluate suppliers, and build the test and analysis infrastructure that turns raw sensor data into confidence that a product will perform in the field. It's a small, hands-on team where you'll see your work go from idea to test bench to real hardware decisions.\nCoStar Group’s technology internship program provides hands-on experience with enterprise-level projects. Interns work alongside full-time engineers, contributing to meaningful business initiatives and gaining exposure to core software engineering principles. Each intern is paired with a dedicated mentor to support technical development, career growth, and day-to-day learning throughout the program.\nThis position is located in Sunnyvale, CA.\nWhat You'll Do:\nWork with real sensor data (imaging, depth/LiDAR, or test-bench measurements) to build models, tools, or analysis pipelines that help the team make faster, better-informed engineering decisions \nHelp develop or improve methods for analyzing optical, calibration, or reliability test data \nPrototype approaches to problems like anomaly detection, signal/data processing, calibration modeling, or automated data quality checks \nCollaborate with hardware, test, and software engineers to understand the problem before jumping to a solution \nDocument your approach and present findings to the team \nBasic Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Robotics, or a comparable major. Must be planning to return to school following the completion of the Summer 2027 internship. \nMust have an expected graduation date of December 2027 - June 2028 \nMinimum 3.0 cumulative GPA \nAvailable to participate in the full 10-week summer internship program and commit to a 40-hour work week throughout the internship. \nProficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for ML/data work (e.g., Python, C++, and/or MATLAB) \nCoursework, project, internship, or work experience applying machine learning, statistics, applied data analysis, or similar concepts\nComfortable working with real-world, imperfect data \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExposure to any of the following (no specific combination required): PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, signal processing, computer vision, sensor fusion, or robotics \nExperience with hardware, embedded systems, or physical test data (academic, personal projects, or professional) \nPersonal, academic, or capstone projects applying ML to a real dataset or physical system \nComfort moving between exploratory analysis and more rigorous engineering documentation \nCuriosity about how hardware and ML intersect Ability to write understandable, maintainable, and well-documented code. \nInterest in learning new technologies and building high-quality software. \nDemonstrated initiative through academic, internship, project, or extracurricular experiences. \nExperience collaborating on academic, internship, project, or team-based work. \nFamiliarity with Agile development practices and the Software Development Lifecycle \nUnderstanding of web services, APIs, or application design concepts, such as REST or GraphQL. \nExposure to AI, machine learning, data science, or emerging technology concepts through coursework, projects, internships, or personal learning. \nExperience building or contributing to technical projects, such as capstone projects, personal applications, research, open-source contributions, or class-based software projects. \nWhat's in it for you?\nWhen you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.\nThe final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.\nBase Compensation: $40 - $45 (Hourly)\nWe welcome all qualified candidates who are currently eligible to work full-time in the United States to apply.
