STR delivers data that is confidential, accurate and actionable to empower our clients to strategize and compete in their markets.\nLearn more about STR.\nROLE DESCRIPTION\nThe role of Data Operations Associate will be a vital position on the STR Data Operations Team, reporting to the Manager, Data Operations. This role is responsible for data loading, data checking and report delivery for our benchmarking product. In addition, this role will support client-related administrative tasks, including automating and managing data feeds and facilitating data exchange between STR and clients. This team member will work closely with STR’s clients and internal team members worldwide to ensure the accuracy and continued provision of data. Responsibilities also include responding to report requests and ensuring that reports are delivered accurately and on schedule.\nThe data operations team is responsible for a diverse and growing range of data types, including:\nHistorical data\nForward booking data\nP&L data\nA basic understanding of key data points across all data sets and their relevance to our clients is crucial. This knowledge helps to ensure accurate data handling and supports the delivery of meaningful reporting for client decision making.\nThis position requires an individual that is self-motivated and detail-orientated with strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and can quickly adapt to changing situations. Exceptional interpersonal skills and commercial acumen are essential, as this role involves collaboration with diverse stakeholders while ensuring data integrity, quality, and client confidentiality. The ability to manage customer requests independently and deliver timely, accurate solutions is critical for success.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nLoad performance data from corporate submissions, automated data feeds and manual data files:Perform data quality checks - research and accept/reject data.\nContact data providers to understand and resolve data discrepancies.\nCommunicate effectively and professionally with properties, clients, and other industry professionals regarding STR/CoStar’s policies and guidelines.\nNotify the research department of any census related issues (room supply, open dates, etc.).\nConduct daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures.\nRespond to clients via email in an effective and timely manner.\nHelp teams run pre-processing checks on weekly and monthly data.\nGenerate, check, and send selected reports to corporate clients and individual properties.\nAct as an internal point of contact for data related queries.\nManage workflow requests and work with clients to assist in the setup of data delivery.\nStay knowledgeable of industry trends and industry news that may affect the data.\n\nHelp clients automate their data submission to STR from various technology vendors.\nIdentify new opportunities for automated data transfer to STR with new technology vendors.\nAdhere to STR’s and CoStar’s standards and guidelines for data confidentiality\nMaintain and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables to clients.\nComplete assigned delivery tasks with a high degree of accuracy.\nNotify the team and business when there are issues impacting delivery timelines.\nPartner with internal teams (e.g. IT, Global Data Operations) to resolve delivery issues as efficiently as possible.\nAdjust and update report setups per client requests.\nAdhere to STR’s and CoStar’s standards and guidelines for data confidentiality\nOther duties may be assigned as required.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree (ideally in the field of hospitality, data, business management or finance) or equivalent experience\nFluent in English\nData Skills: creative, innovative, and analytical. Strong confidence in using and manipulating quantitative performance data.\nAbility to manipulate big data sets/work with disparate data sets.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word.\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.\nExperienced in dealing with urgent internal and/or external requests while maintaining the turnaround times for other projects. \nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nProfessional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, sufficient to investigate data issues and communicate with clients and data providers in Greater China.\nWorking proficiency in Japanese.\nKnowledge of hospitality technology; PMS, RMS, BI Tools\nFinancial literacy, including familiarity with P&L statements and related performance indicators.\nExperience with API integrations and SFTP data transfers.\nWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?\nWorking at STR within the CoStar Group means you'll enjoy a culture of collaboration and innovation that attracts the best and brightest across a broad range of disciplines.
