STR is in the process of combining CoStar’s largest and most up-to-date properties database with STR’s global hospitality performance data, to give both real estate and hospitality customers a unique and powerful combined view of their local markets.\nThe role of Data Operations Associate will be a vital position on the STR Data Operations Team based in Nashville, reporting to the Manager, Data Operations. This role is responsible for data loading, data checking and report delivery for our benchmarking product. In addition, this role will support client-related administrative tasks, including automating and managing data feeds and facilitating data exchange between STR and clients. This team member will work closely with STR’s clients and internal team members worldwide to ensure the accuracy and continued provision of data. Responsibilities also include responding to report requests and ensuring that reports are delivered accurately and on schedule.\nThe data operations team is responsible for a diverse and growing range of data types, including:\nHistorical data \nForward booking data \nP&L data \nA basic understanding of key data points across all data sets and their relevance to our clients is crucial. This knowledge helps to ensure accurate data handling and supports the delivery of meaningful reporting for client decision making.\nThis position requires an individual that is self-motivated and detail-orientated with strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and can quickly adapt to changing situations. Exceptional interpersonal skills and commercial acumen are essential, as this role involves collaboration with diverse stakeholders while ensuring data integrity, quality, and client confidentiality. The ability to manage customer requests independently and deliver timely, accurate solutions is critical for success.\nKey Responsibilities\nLoad performance data from corporate submissions, automated data feeds and manual data files: \nPerform data quality checks - research and accept/reject data. \nContact data providers to understand and resolve data discrepancies. \nCommunicate effectively and professionally with properties, clients, and other industry professionals regarding STR/CoStar’s policies and guidelines. \nNotify the research department of any census related issues (room supply, open dates, etc.). \nWork with internal stakeholders to monitor and improve participation levels. \nConduct daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures. \nRespond to clients via email in an effective and timely manner. \nHelp teams run pre-processing checks on weekly and monthly data. \nGenerate, check, and send selected reports to corporate clients and individual properties. \nAct as an internal point of contact for data related queries. \nManage workflow requests and work with clients to assist in the setup of data delivery. \nStay knowledgeable of industry trends and industry news that may affect the data. \nWork on various projects as needed and able. \nHelp clients automate their data submission to STR from various technology vendors. \nIdentify new opportunities for automated data transfer to STR with new technology vendors. \nSupport growth in data participation. \nMaintain and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables to clients. \nComplete assigned delivery tasks with a high degree of accuracy. \nNotify the team and business when there are issues impacting delivery timelines. \nPartner with internal teams (e.g. IT, Global Data Operations) to resolve delivery issues as efficiently as possible. \nAdjust and update report setups per client requests. \nAdhere to STR’s and CoStar’s standards and guidelines for data confidentiality. \nOther duties may be assigned as required. \nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university. \nMinimum of 1+ years of relevant work experience. \nA track record of commitment to prior employers. \nData Skills: creative, innovative, and analytical. Strong confidence in using and manipulating quantitative performance data. \nAbility to manipulate big data sets/work with disparate data sets. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and establish strong working relationships with executive management, internal clients, team members and other departments. \nStrong knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word. \nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team. \nExperienced in dealing with urgent internal and/or external requests while maintaining the turnaround times for other projects. \nHistory of working in a detail orientated role whereby attention and focus was a priority.
