Everyone was writing up their sexual experiences. Invented, overheard, researched from Krafft-Ebing and medical books. We had comical conversations. We told a story and the rest of us had to decide whether it was true or false. Or plausible. Was this plausible? Robert Duncan would offer to experiment, to test our inventions, to confirm or negate our fantasies.”\nNin never met the collector herself. But occasionally she received a phone call.\n“Less poetry,” said the voice over the telephone. “Be specific.”\nWriting horoscopes is a little like writing erotica. [redacted] You must look directly at the most uncomfortable bits of life: our perversions, shadows, embarrassing insecurities, and describe them as plainly as possible, with generosity and care for our tender hearts and fragile dreams. Doing it well is arduous but can also be pleasurable. A practice for all the other types of writing you will do. \nWe’re looking for this kind of writer to join the Co-Star Content team. You’ll help tens of millions of people connect with each other and themselves-through astrology-in real, meaningful ways.\nWhat you'll do\nExpress complex human experience with simplicity and nuance, compassion and objectivity.\nWield the horoscope to find new ways to make people feel seen. “Recover the sensation of life; make us feel things, make the stone stony.”\nRewrite what feels tired and trite. Cut everything unnecessary.\nInternalize the brand, and make it come alive in your own words.\nWhat you'll bring\nA strong voice and internal compass.\nKeen observational skills. You perform psychological brain surgery on yourself and others. \nPiercing knowledge of human behavior-whether through academia, astrology, therapy, or a lifetime of careful observation.\nYou’re emotionally intelligent and generally give good advice.\nExcellent communication skills and confidence presenting your work.\nPrecise writing. Your metaphors are unvarnished and your style is deep without being pretentious.","description_format":"text","description_chars":2246,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Consumer Health Apps","Consumer & Utility Software"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-05T19:07:18Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":11,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.386,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":84,"expected_fill_days":27,"reasons":["conf:0","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-17T05:46:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/costarastrology-writer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/costarastrology-writer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-18T11:52:04Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":17677,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-19T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":5566},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=5566"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fcostarastrology-writer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fcostarastrology-writer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fcostarastrology-writer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/costarastrology-writer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fcostarastrology-writer"}]}
