Working within Agile/Scrum environments, this role focuses on healthcare claims processing (headers, state variations, custom logic), ETL validation, and Oracle/SQL Server database testing. The Associate Quality Analyst collaborates with development and operations teams to identify defects, execute test scenarios, and validate data integrity in backend systems.\nResponsibilities\nCreate and execute SQL queries to validate backend system processing, data integrity, and business rule implementation. \nSupport ETL testing activities by executing predefined test scenarios and comparing source and target data using established procedures. \nPerform database functionality testing activities to verify data accuracy following documented INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE test procedures. \nReview assigned business and system requirements to understand testing objectives and expected results under guidance from experienced team members. \nCreate, adapt, and execute test cases for backend system functionality following established QA standards and documented procedures. \nDevelop and maintain automated test scripts using approved testing frameworks, reusable components, and established coding standards. \nAssist in maintaining and updating test documentation, test cases, and test execution records. \nAnalyze application behavior, test results, and database output to identify software defects and processing inconsistencies. \nCompile quality metrics and assist with identifying trends and issues requiring additional review. \nCommunicate testing progress, defects, and results to team members and immediate supervisors. \nUse documented SQL queries, system logs, and troubleshooting procedures to analyze and investigate assigned defects. \nSupport production incident analysis by gathering information from system logs, database records, and applications under supervision. \nExecute and maintain backend validation tests for application enhancements, system modifications, and production releases. \nProvide feedback on testing processes and assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement. \n Primary Duty Statement: The primary duty of this position is technical systems analysis, backend application testing, database analysis, ETL validation, and automated test development for computer applications and information systems. The position applies specialized technical knowledge to analyze system functionality, evaluate data processing results, investigate software defects, develop and maintain automated testing solutions, and validate application performance and data integrity. This job description does not constitute an employment agreement and is subject to change as the needs of Cotiviti and requirements of the job change. \nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. \n1-2 years of QA experience in software quality assurance and automated testing, along with functional, integration, and regression testing, in an Agile/Scrum development environment, preferably SAFe (internships, CPT (Curricular Practical Training) programs, contract roles, or equivalent hands-on experience acceptable). \nHands-on experience with at least one automated testing framework (Selenium, TestComplete, or similar). \nWorking knowledge of SQL for database querying and data validation (SELECT statements, WHERE clauses, JOINs, basic subqueries). \nExperience with Oracle or SQL Server database environments. \nExperience with ETL applications and backend data validation testing. \nWorking knowledge of version control software such as GIT. \nExperience creating and executing test cases based on business requirements. \nAbility to identify, document, and report software defects with clear descriptions and reproduction steps. \nGood written and verbal communication skills. \nFamiliarity with at least one issue tracking tool (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar). \nHands-on experience with at least one AI tool (such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar generative AI platforms) for code generation, documentation, or technical learning. \nAbility to leverage AI-assisted capabilities for test case optimization and automation improvements. \nUnderstanding of AI output validation and the importance of human review before implementation in production environments. \nExperience with DML operations (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE validation) and data consistency verification. \nWorking knowledge of software testing methodologies and backend application testing principles.\nPreferred:\nExperience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and SAFe practices. \nKnowledge of Agile SDLC principles and terminology. \nISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent formal QA training. \nUS healthcare domain knowledge, particularly in claims processing, state variations, or prior authorization workflows. \nExperience with healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA) and compliance requirements. \nExperience with production support environments and incident response processes. \nFamiliarity with healthcare data. \nWorking knowledge of JavaScript, Java, or .NET fundamentals for understanding test automation code; ability to read and interpret basic automation scripts. \nCognitive / Mental Requirements\nCommunicating with others to exchange information. \nAssessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. \nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions\nRemaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. \nRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. \nNo adverse environmental conditions expected. \nMust be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area. \nMust be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance. \nBase compensation ranges from $55,000 to $75,000 per year.
